Regarding the atsc tuner (or HDTV tuner) I can have a look for prices and specs, I need to know your location, and what kind of tuner you need (eg internal on PC etc.)

Best input for hdmi is always hdmi, if you have one, if not, like in your case, you need to use a converter, this will give you HDMI resolution, but can cause some trouble if it moves being quite an heavy adapter.

Honestly it may or may not work, since you are introducing a third party device which is the adapter. try VGA- HDMI port adapter instead.

Hi,

An ATSC tuner, often called an ATSC receiver or HDTV tuner, allows reception of ATSC digital television (DTV) signals broadcast over-the-air by TV stations in certain regions/countries. An example is a SONY EBSSP35 External High Definition TV Tuner. Others are incorporated as part of a DVD Recorder/Player such as a Samsung DVD-AR650 ATSC DVD Recorder. Of course, you need to check signal input connectors compatibility but generally most would work with each other.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

My 19" Crt Monitor is blurry on windows 7 64bit

The Crt monitor may not have a higher resolution rate that the new ones have for windows 7 64bit, if that is not the case the monitor has a high voltage problem in the flyback transformer, but! it does have a focus adjust, use this with extreme care, may solve problem.

My monitor turns yellowish i can still work what is the problem. the monitor is a Acer V233H

The red "gun" of your CRT monitor is going bad. You will need to get a new monitor, and you should seriously consider an LCD flat screen. It will save you allot in electricity.

A CRT monitor is a very cool piece of technology inside... even though they are going obsolete with the advent of modern LCD displays.

In every CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) monitor, there is a trio of "Electron Guns"- they fire electrons at the front of the screen, hitting it with billions upon billions of electrons... the "bullets". Each gun is aimed at a set of colored targets, called "pixels"... one gun hits red ones, one for green, and one for blue. Combinations of these colors make up everything we can see.

When the red "gun" cannot fire enough electron "bullets" at the screen, the blue and green together make the picture appear yellowish.

If you want to learn more, look up "cathode ray tube" on wikipedia for starters!

A word of warning- the technology is very cool (I used to teach how CRT screens worked as part of my job teaching Missile fire control radar for the Navy), BUT:

THERE ARE VERY HIGH VOLTAGES INSIDE A CRT MONITOR THAT CAN KILL!!! DO NOT OPEN
THE CASE!!!!

Remember- the electron "guns" inside are shooting billions and billions of electrons at the front of the screen. They are being collected from the screen by a high voltage "supply". Most CRT's operate with anywhere from 15 to 45 THOUSAND VOLTS!

Hi i have a LG 700E CRT monitor i am using this monitor for last 5 years but now i am facing a problem that red color in the monitor is not coming . please assist me regarding this.

The most likely cause is a broken red signal wire in the monitor cable. The next possibility is a bad connection at one end of the cable going to the CRT board inside the monitor. It could also be a thermal-fatigued solder connection in the red cathode driver circuit on the CRT board (this can often be found by visual inspection after removing the CRT board shield).

If you don't find one of those three problems, you'll need to use an oscilloscope to trace the signal from the input cable up to the red cathode terminal. (Caution - high voltage here!)

Get dish network to work with hp SR5505F COMPAQ PRESARIO COMPUTER

You can not change channels on Satellite with your TV tuner card. The satellite box decodes the sat signal (it is sent encrypted) you can run S-Video/RCA/HDMI depending on the video card input, but you will be required to change the channel on the Dish box. The TV card can only change channels on broadcast (over the air) channels, you can attach an antenna and it will use the NTSC tuner to change analog channels (if they are still available) and the ATSC tuner to change digital/HD broadcast channels. This card (from your description can ONLY deal with broadcast TV, You will need a TV card with a QAM tuner for unscrambled digital cable. There is no solution for directly interfacing with Satellite on a PC or Mac (DirectTV or Dish) the signal from the satellite is encrypted and requires (at least for DirectTV, a fairly complicated decryption setup to function, this is handled by the tuner box/card combination. Sorry your setup will not support changing the channel on the PC, you may be able to find some kind of software that can utilize an IR transmitter to change the channels on your satellite box, similar to the way a Tivo or other DVR can talk to cable boxes, but that is the best you will be able to do as far as channel changing.

Need to know scan frequency of the computer

Most TV have interlaced 60, which is really 30 hz...

You can set your computer's scan frequency by right clicking on desktop, then going to the rightmost tab, under advanced, click on the monitor tab and select 60 from dropdown tab...

However, most videocards output Svideo to tv, not VGA so don't worry about it. if your TV has VGA in, you can select 60, but if it has VGA in, it probably has greater than 60 capabilities... but 60 is rock safe for everything.
