Question about Home

1 Answer

After installing a new Fluidmaster 400A a few months ago, the refill tube started running constantly - not at 100% like when we flush it but enough that it always sounds like it's running and I would guess it to be approximately 1 gallon every 15 - 20 minutes. Adjusting the float up or down seems to make no difference. We have soft water. Thanks for any help.

With the fluidmaster you should have found instructions on how to take it apart and flush it out if dirt gets in the valve...
If not look up the fluid master website, the instructions are there...
You simply have dirt in the needle valve...

What's wrong with that that's were it should be.with a 2.5 gal tank that water level is corect.Iff think that's too much, adjust the water level adjust clip, by sueezing clip and move it down to adjust the water levelto lower.

How to adjust fluidmaster

There should be a small black rubber tubing piece that connects to the fill valve and the other end goes in the overflow tube to refill the bowl after each flush. Make sure this tubing is installed correctly and that should solve the problem. Hope this helps.

300. Why does it occasionally get stuck in the up position or fails to refill tank completely?

It has been my experience that they are reliable. Fluidmaster instructions say to flush the valve (not the toilet) after installation to purge debris. It may be necessary to do this again. Also check for interference with the refill tubing. The float and linkage should be able to move freely.

The overflow pipe should be attached to a small clip that holds it in position over the over flow pipe. If it is loose or attached to the outside it will do what yours is doing.

I have fluidmaster in my mancesa toilet. After flushing the toilet tank doesn't refill unless I turn off the water supply and turn it back on. What do I do to fix this problem. Wayne

First thing to do is figure out if the problem is with the fluidmaster or with the shutoff valve. If the water doesn't run at all after flushing, then instead of cycling the shutoff valve, just loosen the nut where the supply tube attaches to the fluidmaster (under the tank). If the problem is in the fluidmaster, it will start to squirt out at you, otherwise it won't. Then you know what to disassemble and attempt to repair, or replace.
