Question about Pentax *ist DL Digital Camera

1 Answer

When I press the menu button my camera scrolls repeatedly through the menu screens and the arrow keys and OK button are non-responsive. It keeps flashing the date format screen. It will take a picture with my fish-eye lens but not with the 18-55mm. Also the pictures have the wrong dates when downloaded.

This is a generic problem with most digital cameras when the capacitor gets weak or a hairline crack is showing up on the capacitors outer core. I would have it checked out by a qualified technician and get a qoute for repairs

I have a Phillips Photo frame model SPF3410/G7. How do I delete images? Is there a way to delete all images?

VERY IMPORTANT: PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR MEMORY CARD OR USB FLASH DRIVE IS NOT PLUGGED INTO THE FRAME BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS AS YOU WILL BE DELETING FROM YOUR CARD.

(Deleting Photos)

1. Press the RETURN button four times. (This is the button that appears to have a half box with an arrow coming out of it.)
2. Using your LEFT or RIGHT arrow buttons, scroll to FILE and press the OK button. **Now you should have a split screen view. File names on the left, and a small thumbnail view of the selected file name on the right.
3. Scroll down until the photo you want to delete shows as a small thumbnail to the right of the split screen view.
4. Press the LEFT arrow button until the small icon to the LEFT of the file name changes colors.
5. Once this is done, press the RIGHT arrow to display the delete menu.
6. Scroll to DELETE and press the OK button
**You may have to press the OK button again to confirm your selection.
**This photo should now be deleted and you can proceed to the next photo for deletion.
Move on to the next picture and repeat steps 1 - 6.

My camera has never been dropped why isn't my flash working?

Hi jlapread

If your camera is giving you a `E91` error on screen it could be a faulty flash module and need replacing at a Sony Service Center. Contact your dealer for info.

But, before you do that try steps 1 and 2 below.

Here is some things you can try:

1. If it is only a setting you can select the `green` camera for auto shooting and then press the `UP arrow key until the flash sign is shown on the screen. The screen will also say `Flash On`. Take a picture to see if it works.

If not proceed to `2` below.

2. Press the `Menu` button.
First select the `Green` camera on the selection knob.
Scroll with the right arrow to the little toolbox picture.
Once in the setup menu scroll down to the toolbox picture with a 1 under neath.
Press the right arrow arrow and then scroll to the `Intialize` option.
Press the right button and select `OK`.
Press the middle button on the arrow selector.
Camera now wants to know if you are sure, select ok.

You will now have to enter the date again and setup any `Program` settings you might want on the camera.

Now take the camera into a dark room - as it is now on `Flash Auto` and test to see if the flash works.

If none of these helped you, you can take the camera to a repair agent and get it fixed. I have replaced numerous of the flash modules at approximately a quarter of the cost of the camera.

Hope this information helps you.

Good luck

My songs are shuffled

Since you cannot see what you are doing on the screen, I will tell you what buttons to push to un-shuffle your songs. Press the buttons in the exact order I tell you. Ok. Turn off the mp3 player, then turn it back on. Press the little menu button. Push the left arrow button once. Press the play button 3 times slowly. You are now in the menu that gives you the following options to unshuffle your music:
1. Off
2. Repeat single Track
3. Shuffle/No Repeat
4. Repeat all Tracks
5. Repeat all With Shuffle

I'm guessing that you may have to push the down arrow once or the up arrow once. This should select the Repeat all Tracks option. After scrolling up or down one time, press the play button once, then the menu button twice. Now push play to start your music. If this does not work, you can set your player back to the default settings by pushing the menu button once, pushing left arrow once, hit the play button. Scroll down 5 times, hit the play button, and push down 3 times. Be careful, because if you do not push the down arrow THREE times, you might accidentally select the option of erasing the memory.Once you push down 3 times and hit the play button, push down once more to select Yes of reseting your player back to it's original settings. This should help you out.
