My H710 Bluetooth is not working. I make calls, can hear who I called and they cannot hear me. Now, when I close the boom I can hear through the closed boom.

The receiver is functioning but the speaker is not.Checkout if the speaker setting is got muted or set to zero.Volume buttons can be used not only to adjust the headset volume but also to mute or unmute .Functional buttons on the headset include mute/unmute call. also if the headset is connected then try to call from the head set connected and then try to adjust the mute/unmute settings. Thanks.

Hello. There is no owner repair that can be done here. Return the unit to your phone store where they will either repair or replace it. Hopefully it is still under warranty. J.

To unmute your H710 all you need to do is "tap both volume buttons until you hear a mute tune"

I would like to add to the information provided before that it si quite possible that the fault is possible in the headset and you will need to check on the mic section.

Please see on the mic inlet for any block due to dirt accumulating , thereby blocking the passage of sound. Use a good soft fibre for cleaning and clearing the passage. If still the problem persist then you will need to open the head set and check on the mic. Use a signal test on the mic to get a response on the answering phone. If so the mic is the main culprit. replace and proceed, However if the fault stays still, it could be the failure of the mic amp, try to solder this area and test.

  • maryc63533 Aug 07, 2010

I really do not understand. Solder? You mean heat up metal and weld it together???
    Please explain.

    Dushyant Bist Aug 07, 2010

yes, you got the right meaning of solder.

Please solder the headset to fix the issue.

  • maryc63533 Aug 07, 2010

This is not possible. I do not have a soldering iron, and wouldn't have any idea what to solder. Is there another possible solution?

That is the same suggestion as before and it didn't work. Is there anyway to reboot the bluetooth?
Should the boom be open or closed while I do this?

    Hello again, Mary.

    Some suggestions:

Remove and Add the pairing to your device again.

Remove the battery for 10 seconds to see if any difference.

It's also possible that there is a hardware issue.

SOURCE: MOTOROLA H800 WIRELESS HEADSET

I took mine apart to see what the problem was, the two wires that go to the mic had be broken. Probably by the sliding motion of the boom. Gonna try to fix it if i can..don't know, It will probably do the same thing again. Always remember- THE MORE MOVING PARTS TO SOMETHING THE MORE THERE IS THAT CAN GO WRONG!

My h710 is on mute, i can hear but no one can hear me

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. The reason why the other line can not hear you is just because your in MUTE mode. In order for them to hear you speaking on the other line, you have to unmute your call. To do that, you just have to tap both volume control until you hear the mute tone.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for using Fixya,

I can hear but people can't hear me

Try to unmute the headset. This may be your problem. The mute function is enabled through the volume buttons. Simply tap both volume buttons at the same time until you hear a mute tone. The mute tone when unmuting the call will be a descending tone. When you tap both volume buttons, if you hear a descending tone you have just disabled the mute function and your problem is solved. If the mute tone is ascending tones you have just enable the mute function and this was not the issue. If this is the case consult your user manual or contact Motorola for trouble shooting.

When i try to talk threw my headset the other person cant hear me but i can hear my self talk on it

Could be that the headset has been muted by accident. To unmute, tap both volume buttons at the same time until you hear a tone or kind of beep.

Does it have a mute button because person on phone cannot hear me but I can hear them.

Tap both volume buttons to mute/unmut. If that does not solve it i have heard many accounts of these headsets having back mic's.

No one can hear me but i hear them just fine.

Try pressing both volume buttons at the same time to "unmute" the call. Not sure if that's the problem... There are video intstructions for H710 Motorola headset on www.HandBookLive.com under Electronics. And the Quick Start video chapter has Mute/Unmute instruction. No idea if that's exactly your problem... I always assumed that when you mute they can't hear you, and you can't hear them, but maybe that's just a strange "mute" function that you are experiencing.

Also try pairing your phone to headset again. There are actually 2 chapters on pairing on www.HandBookLive.com if you don't remember how to do it. They are not for Blackberry phone (motorola and nokia phones) but it should give you a general pattern to follow.
