Hi,

This seems to happen when the Lens unit in the Camera is stuck and not retracting. The possible troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue are power resetting and factory resetting.
Power reset:
Remove the batteries from the Camera.
Press and hold the POWER BUTTON of the Camera for 15 seconds.
Then, reinsert the batteries after 1 minute.
Factory reset:(This can be performed only if the Menu of the Camera is accessible)
To reset the Camera, select the INITIALIZE Option from the SET UP1 Menu of the Camera to OK.
Home-->Settings-->Setup 1-->Initialize-->OK

SOURCE: lens

Hey ajvg,
What is most likely happening is there is something obstructing the movement of the lens (i.e. sand). If this is the problem you could try blowing compressed air from canned air into the side of the lens to try and dislodge whatever is obstructing the movement of the lens. If this doesn't work you could try putting the camera on a flat surface with the lens pointed up while holding the shutter button in press the power button. This will sometimes help if something is out of alignment inside the lens. If neither of these options work I would have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

SOURCE: camera will not take clear photos

As you have noted the lens is the root cause of this noise problem. I really believe there is grit in the lens gear thats preventing it from zooming or re-tracing. As for the blurring this can happen due to shutter lag.. a notorious problem in some of the powershot models. Either ways your camera needs service by an authorized professional. I would not advise you to try and clean the lens gear yourself as it can very easily get messed up and it would significantly rise the cost of the repair.

Good luck
Sai.

I cannot get my lens to focus. Can anyone give me some advice or tell me what could be wrong with it?

Are the pictures sharp? If so, the problem isn't the lens, it's the eyepiece. Most have a small dial to adjust the focus of the viewing system. Try adjusting that. . .

What make and model camera? Which Sigma lens? Do you have autofocus turned on, both on the camera and the lens?

Got no picture all blurry

No picture or one that is all blurry? If blurry,
Clean the lens and make sure it is not loose or damaged. The camera cannot produce blurry pictures at distances greater than around 0.3m ish as it has a fixed focus lens. If it really is blurred either you are too close to the lens, the lens to sensor distance is wrong (mechanical damage) or the lens is dirty.
I hope that helps

Have a canon digital elph sd750. Pictures are now blurry.

You could have cracked the lens, damage the focus or a number of other things but the lens and focus are most likely. check your lens for scratches if there is none and no cracks take it to your nearest camera store or buy new good luck!

Everytime I take a picture it turns out blurry

Inside the lens their is a focus motor that has to be perfectly set if it get out of ajustment this will cause a blurry image it you try to zoom some times you may get a lens error this is because the lens has been obstructed from the inside by the focus lens. the lens eather needs to be replaced or rebuilt.you may find a broke one off ebay with a good lens pretty cheap if you are going to try and repair it your self.
