Question about Fuji FinePix F47fd Digital Camera

1 Answer

When the camera is turned on the following error, beginning with a red exclamation mark, appears: "ZOOM ERROR". The camera was dropped while it was open and the lens now won't retract back into the camera. I can tell it is off balance, which I'm sure it's the technical term, but it's all the terminology I have.

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you found this helpful.

Regards
Andrea

When i on the camera, the zoom goes out and in. a message appears on the screen turn off and on the camera with an exclamation mark !. what should i do?

You lens can not find a focused image, so the lens hunts. Power off then start again to see if the camera has corrected its operation. But be sure to use a fresh battery.

Panasonic lumix dmc-fx37. Two error messages are now appearing. System error zoom system error o.i.s.

sounds like the focus and (Optical Image Stabilization)drive motors are bound or broken, sadly this normaly means new camera, unless there are no marks on the case and they wouldn't think that it had been dropped or gotten wet, well ya know, they will normaly repair or replace it as long as it is due to manufacture defect.

New Saeco Odeo Go has solid red exclamation mark, doesn't budge

You have to 'manually' prime the pump: When the red exclamation mark shows, press the water switch on the right side (the picture of the water drip), then open up the steam nozzle and let the machine pump hot water into a cup until the red light goes out.

I recently got my memory card developed at Wal-Mart and ever since I got the camera back home there is a big exclamation mark on the screen when I try to turn on the camera. I know this means card error....

Try formatting your card:

1- Press erase button and flash mode button on top of camera at the same time.
2- When YES/NO confirmation screen appears, press OK/SHUTTER button.
3- When formatting is finished, the exclamation mark will go away. Please note that all pictures on card will be erased.

Good luck!

Zoom error

You lens are tilted? If so, they are out of track. Maybe you bumped or dropped the camera. Try straighten them up with your fingers, very gently.
