My Rooma 500 series, when I press the start button to go....it sounds like it wants to move forward and the sings a song and doesn't move

I agree with the previous poster, every time you run Romba, you have to empty out the dirt compartment, take the beater brushes off and pull the hair, lint and thread off the brushes (if you use a cat or dog brush this works fantastically) and remove the lint that's wrapped around the ends of the beater brushes. Every other time, you need to remove the thread and hair wrapped around the rotating brush (sometimes you need to remove the Phillips head screw holding this on and really clean it out). Finally the rolling ball wheel needs to be popped out using a narrow, small screwdriver and all the stuff trapped in there removed.

Bissell pro heat 2x belt keeps snapping in half i have cleaned the brushes and stuff but it continues to do it

If hair etc bound to roller look for and remove that--make sure using correct belt and where it engages shaft the end is clean (black belt residue will cause belt to slip and early failure).

Brush is not spinning

Usually, this is caused by the brush assembly end bearings becoming bound up with string, thread, and hair. Remove the brush and clean the bearings and end shafts. Oil them lightly with 3-1 oil or similar. Check the condition of the drive belt and replace it if badly worn or broken. Check the rotation of the brush by hand before installing the belt. Hope this helps!

When vacuuming hardwood floor, hair gathers on brush and never sucks into vacuum. I spend most of my time cleaning off brushes. How do I clean hardwood floor with dog hairs.

1. Broom and dust pan, then mop
2. Wet dry vac with wide non-brush attachment
3. Here's a link to a vacuum professing to clean pet hairs well

4. Try to find a wide attachment for the hose that has no brush, maybe something from a wet dry vac.

5. Take your dog outside and brush every day. It helps, but no matter what you do, you will have pet hair if you have an indoor pet.

6. Go to the source. See if your dog will be vacuumed. Half serious on this one.

Good luck!

Bin barely fills. Lots of dog hair between brushes and bin, and is now dropping hair balls as it goes around the house

This is why Roomba recommends a thorough clean of your carpet with a standard vac prior to using your mini vac. Once all heavy debris has been removed, the roomba will maintain that state of clean. If you have that much dog hair, you cant expect such a small roller, brush and dustbin to keep up. sounds like you need the dirt dog instead. It is capable of handling heavier demand areas. Or the

Dog hair gets caught all the time in the belt drive spool, is there a fix for this other than having to pull it out all the time by hand? I have replaced the belt and the brush but this hasnt solved the...

My Dyson started making a loud noise when in "carpet" mode. After reading a ton of forums I thought it was the clutch assembly. Got a new one on eBay for a great price. Somewhat hard to replace, but thanks to this YouTube video, I was able to get it in: http://www.ezvacuum.com/dyson-dc07dc14-clutch-assembly-90025204-genuine-p-1636.html

HOWEVER this did not resolve the issue. I realized the beater bar was not spinning or was slipping. I thought I cleaned it all out but realized you need to take the beater bar out and pop the end cap and clean out the INSIDE of the beater bar (tons of lint and cat hair). I additionally sprayed WD40 in there.

It spins great now and in the end I think that's all I had to do was clean out the cat hair build up inside the beater bar. But now I have a new clutch & belts too. Hopefully won't have issues anytime soon.

My dogs hair often accumulates in the spinning rod

Try spinning it by hand with no belt. If it is tight, dismantle the bearings at the end and clean out the hair . If it is loose then the problem is likely that your belt has stretched, Buy 2 genuine belts and keep a spare on hand. For best cleaning results , replace every 3- 4 months ( broken or not) , if you have a lot of pet hair

Congratulations on owning a great vacuum cleaner, it's just like mine! Here's what I do: Grab the drive belt and pull while you wiggle the brush bar into it. You have to get a little bit physical with it. The ends of the brush bar will nestle into their keeper pockets nicely when you've got it right. Good luck!

Same thing, brushes dont spin unless vacuum is tilted back

I had the same problem. Checked the belt, pulled out all the hairs, cleaned the hoses, but the agitator brush wouldn't spin at all or only marginally. Finally I removed the agitator brush altogether and found crud and accumulated in the small groove at the ends, creating friction. I cleaned it with a small knife (not the most technical of tools, but the only thing small enough I could find to fit in there, especially since it seems there's no way to pop off the end caps and clean them properly). This seems to have solved the problem for now...although I still can't seem to clean it enough to get that same 'pull' back. Good enough to clean up after three black dogs, though, since NOT vacuuming is NOT an option.

Belt not turning

It could well be the dog hair. You'll need to remove the roller brush and completely clean it off with the hair which sounds like it has wrapped itself around the brush and the brush end washers. Check that the entire roller brush is completely clear and if any dirt is found at the sides, remove it.
