Hi,

If I understand your problem right and if you are in the US, it is possible that the Sanyo flat tube TV is using a PAL cant hook up rf input - 650e91e.jpg type female antenna (RF IN) connector while your cable (or aerial) coaxial cable is terminated and using an F type 398377c.jpg. What is needed is an adapter to convert the F to PAL 254abcd.jpg. These are readily available at any electronics parts store.

Should I have mis-interpreted your concern, would appreciate a post back with clarification.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

After some research http://www.tacp.toshiba.com/tacpassets-images/models/51hc85/docs/51hc85_om_e.pdf There is no coaxial input for this tv. Also as far as the RF Modulator you unfortunatly are trying to use that incorrectly. The RF Modulator is used to convert the RCA or Red Yellow White cables down to Coaxile, not vice versa. However if you have an old VCR or better yet a cable box you would want to hook up the cable box then enter the TV using one of the RCA jacks, HDMI Jacks, or other inputs such as Svid. But easy enough if you have a vcr you can access cable through that as well, and make sure the tv is sat to the correct channel or input to access the VCR or other item.

My 65 inch Mitsibishi rear projection lost the red when viewing Cable, but the red works when viewing dvd's or playing games. Is it the red color tube or somthing less sinister?

Okay - lets' verify a couple of things -
1) how do you have cable connected - through -
A) Cable box or
B) no Cable box and the RF Coaxial Cable directly connected into the Rear Projection RF input connector.

\What I believe is that you have possibly a Component cable 'Red - Green - Blue' that is hooked up between your cable box and your TV.
Now the issue is that the Red connection isn't pushed in all the way on either the TV or the Cable box.
Let me know.

check the tv setup menu for rf input mode [choices will be 'air', cable' and cable hrc'] usuallu when this is set incorrectly, the upper channels will be most affeced, and in most cases the video quality suffers- however, if the set is otherwise functioning properly, it is possible that this setting is not set for the signal you cable provider is sending. in hrc mode, some channels are shifted a half megahertz. good luck

I want to hook a system

you will only be able to get digital surround( dolby digital ) from your dvd player( by the coax or optical digital connections ) , the rest will only be in virtual surround

from the dtv box plug the yellow video jack(RCA) into the vcr video input , then plug the audio jack or jacks into the audio input on the vcr. from the vcr hook the audio out to the audio in on the reciever( tv/vcr/sat... input ) , then also connect RF out from the VCR to RF in on the TV .
for the dvd player hook the "s-video out" to the "s-video in" on the tv , then the audio L and R on same s-video input , then send the audio out connection on tv to L and R input on reciever dvd L and R input , then you will need to connect the optical from the dvd player to the reciever or coax connections for the dolby digital on the reciever to work

I am trying to install a phillips apapter RF modular to a televison. I have no idea whether to hook it up to the cable box or the TV. To be honest am not sure where the input cords go. Phillips SWS2326W/17

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, the video (yellow) and audio (red & white) OUTPUTs of the cable box should go to the Video/Audio INPUTs of the RF Modulator. Thereafter, the TV should be set to Channel 3 (or whatever it is the RF Mod is using). This is done if and only if the TV has no A/V INPUTs and/or the cable box has no RF OUTPUT.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Well first off i am assuming that your jvc ONLY has rf connections?
if so, the most you can do is go get an adaptor from walmart that has inputs for either svideo or components and output for rf.

Co-ax input broke off in back

Good Day, aprilpatino;
If your TV has video, components or HDMI inputs you can by pass the 'rf' connector. You must have a cable, sat box or vcr in order to do so. Hook cable output from 'box' to the TV's input. Change TV's input with remote for the proper 'hooked-up' input.
Good Luck, Big Irish.

HOOK UP INFORMATION

The cable should be on the Input to RF connector. Then you should reprogram tv for cable channels. If you have dvd then it should go to the inputs for 1/2/3 A/V inputs yellow for video, red for right audio and white for left audio. Color coded! Hope this helps!
