Notebook won't connect wifi

Hi, assuming your laptop is switched on.
Above the keyboard on the right side are the three 'Easy buttons'. The one on the left is for the wireless function.

Push this button to activate or deactivate the Wireless LAN. When you activate the wireless LAN function, it will search for a wireless LAN signal automatically (assuming you have the wireless LAN driver installed). Just below the screen on the right side is the Status LED Panel, which show six icons, each with its own LED. The first one on the left indicates Wireless LAN status. When the LED is displaying a green light, it indicates that the system is accessing data from, or retrieving data by wireless LAN. So whenever you press the Easy button, you should see the green status light come on or go off. To repeat, if the light is not on, you need to press the Wireless LAN 'Easy Button'. NOTE! If you can't get the button to come on, you will need to re-install the Wireless LAN driver.

Where or how do I find the wireless switch?

On the front of the laptop there is a Bluetooth button, and a wireless button.

On the front edge of the laptop, starting from the Left;

Speaker, Bluetooth button, Wireless button, Power indicator light, Battery indicator light, Microphone-In jack, Line-In jack, Headphones jack, Speaker.

The Bluetooth button has a light in the middle of it. If the light is on, Bluetooth is enabled.
If it is on, turn it off. (Push the button in, let go. The light should be off)

The Wireless button, also has a light in the middle of it. If the light is on, wireless is enabled. Be sure it is on.

During cleaning the virus out, the Bluetooth, and wireless LAN driver may have been corrupted.

Here is Acer Support, and the Drivers Download page,

(Orange rectangle with down arrow pointing to a line)

A small window will come up. There is a circle to the left of - Open with,
and a circle to the left of - Save File.

Left-click on the circle to the left of - Save File.
Now go down to the right, and click on OK.

This file will either go to your Documents folder, or it will go to your desktop screen.

In either place, when you see the file name, Double-click right on it.
The Installation Wizard will come up.
Click on Next, Next, and Finish.
(Bottom of each window)

Restart your computer.

To know which wireless LAN driver you need, (Atheros, Broadcom, or Intel), go to Device Manager.

i have V6211AU with function of inbuilt bluetooth and wifi,if u have both inbuilt devices, its mean u can use it. but without drivers u cant use it, so first of all get ur drivers log on comapq website.
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/ProductList.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=1842076&taskId=135
see left-hand side, and as a new user register in it first, with ur mail id and pass word, its totally free.
then in serch box, write ur laptop series no. which is below of ur laptop.after it select ur operating system, like windows xp, or vista. then u will find a complete list uf ur laptop drivers only. download first-- bluetooth driver, wirless driver, and broadcom LAN driver, its necessary for ur inbuilt devices. after downloading install them,

during install them, plz keep on ur bluetooth devices switch, like blue signal indicating.after installing them restart ur system, and on ur bluetooth.after sometime in right corner u will find it. and u can also start it from controll panel-click on HP wireless assistant.

its complete process, but u can download all the drivers which is on this site, for future, cause its complete driver for ur laptop.
best of luck. ATUL KUMAR.
