Does it sound like it doing something??trying to agitate?? can you spin out the water??. if not id look to possible bad lid switch, open adn close the lid a few times, can you herea distinct "clicking" sound just prior to the lid closing??? if not you nave a bad lid switch. acesses by removing the front cover panels, and removing screws holding down main lid, lid then tips back giving you acesss to the switch itself

Wont spin, drain or agitate

the transmission is either burnt out or the freaky looking belt that turns the pump is off. or the switch that tells the unit that the top lid is down sometimes comes loose cause some companies used a caulk like substance to keep the foot attached to the switch as slid away from where it is and the lid is not pressing that foot down to close the circuit and tell the tranny its safe to spin etc. You can fill with the lid open but not spin. There is a motor that controls all the spinning and draining or agitation and if something in their design is opening the circuit it wont perform those functions.
another idea is the timer motor isn't making contact and you might have to replace that..... there are tons of issues that can cause that.

Wont agitate

Hi, Try these:
  1. Test the lid switch
  2. Inspect the motor coupler
  3. Inspect the drive belt (belt drive only)
  4. Inspect under the washer for soot (clutch)
  5. Test the motor
  6. Inspect the pulley
  7. Test the transmission
  8. Inspect the agitator
  9. Inspect the pump coupling
  10. Test the water level switch
please rate my suggestion....

Kenmore washer 80 series 110 model not spinning.

unless your washer is over 20 years old, then it wont have a belt. the temperature of the water wont have anything to do with it spinning or not.
need to know if it agitates or drains and just wont spin.
if it agitates but no spin or drain, then you have a bad lid switch.
if it wont agitate or spin, but will drain, then you have a broken drive coupling.

Kenmore washer model 110.49722990 it will not go into the drain or spin part of the cycle, just sits there and hums, won't do anything. It will fill with water and wash, but thats all it won't finish the...

Does it fill with "cold" water? Will it spin?Drain? If the machine will fill up with cold water, will the timer advance by itself to finish?Or if you place the timer in spin cycle will it spin?First off if your not getting "Cold" water to fill inside :Replace the water valve (because when the timer stops after the agitation cycle it wont advance because it cant fill up with cold water.

Amana washer

take the front panel off, two screws at the bottom of the front panel, probably a 5/16 nut driver will work. You will need a flash light. partially fill the washer with water and then turn it to spin.

Look up underneath the tub and see where the water is leaking from. If its coming from above the bearing you need a seal job.

Bearing, seal kit, not cheap, how old is the machine, time to buy a new one?
