connect laptop to router using lan cable. check internet connection. Should be ok. Only then enable wireless using same WLAN protocol you use on Router: WEP or WPA with same encryption key TKIP or AES. Be sure no access list enabled on Router or add Laptop MAC address to access list.

What you can try is :
re-install wireless card
power cycle your router & modem and then try to connect
if it still does not work then call your internet service provider and he ll assist you with the settings
You need to look on the back of your router and find the small reset button. Push it and everything should reconfigure. If not Go into your device manager and see if you can find something called a NIC card or Network Interface Card, or something called an Ethernet card, if those are not listed, it means your driver has been deleted somehow. You can go to the manufacturers website and download a new driver.
you should make a connection from your PC to your router then connect your laptop to your PC's internet connection... you will need 2 dongles 1 in your PC and 1 in your laptop (unless you have it built in). get the connection on the PC first then find the connection from your laptop to your PC
Run a cat5 cable from the laptop to a cat5 port on the router, open internet explorer in the address window type http://192.168.1.1 or what ever the IP address of the router once you have accessed the router create your PPPOE internet connection, enter your Internet Service Provider's username and password. Once you have done this, disconnect the cat5 cable and connect wirelessly to the router from the laptop. If all this fails press and hold the reset button on the back of the router for 10-15 seconds this will reset the router to factory defaults. connect to the wireless router and create the PPPOE connection. Your cloning the mac address - thats the problem. It should use it's own mac address to connect to the modem. You need to power down the modem, then repower after a minute or so to let it connect to the new mac address. The problem you are seeing is due to network collisions betweenj the desktop and the router with the modem.
