Let verify first to narrow down to where the problem can be, attach the powered PC speakers to the Audio Line out RCA jacks to see if you get the crackling sound there also, if you do, then the problem is in the sound processor circuit. Please post back what you find. If not, then the power section is bad. If you can live with sound from the Powered speakers, you may want to keep on using it that way, just muted the speakers in the sound setup menu, otherwise the repair bill can be in the $200~300 range.

Crackling when turned on then high pitched howl and sound like vinyl being played loud and having stylus dragged across it is the only way to describe the noise after howl. was being used and did crackle...

You didn't say whether it was one or both channels. The word to describe the noise when using a turntable, back in the days, is called Acoustic Vibration. Your issue is not that. I can be an amplifier oscillating, for the high pitched sound and the crackling could be DC Offset*meaning a damaged amplifier) If you need further assistance, or would like to inquire about a repair, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. Thank you.

Aspire wont power up

Sounds like someone spilled something into your laptop. Probably a lost cause. Most likely would need the system board replaced if that is the case.

Crackling sound in microwave vent when power is off

By "powered off" can I assume you mean that it is plugged in and at idle, not cooking, just showing the clock?

If so, I'd say your control board is failing.

If my assumption is wrong, please write back with more details.

We regularly repair these control units for customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week with a one-year guarantee.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your model number) for more information & help.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
