Please check the cartridge, the ink is there or not. If the ink is there please check the printer properties and check the color settings.

Casio pcr-272 has stopped printing. paper is correct type and loaded correctly, ink is fine. only prints about 4 characters on the right side of the tape

give it a hard reset. so unplug and wait 30 seconds and try again if this doesn't work then it could be a software related error. unfortunately you would have to do more research

Please try this solution
Switch on the printer, while its moving the cartridge carriage unit, plug out the power cable.

Open the printer's cover.
Now the printer is off, and the cartridge carriage unit is located somewhere in the middle or any side.
Pull it to the middle of the printer.
Take out both cartridge from the carriage unit, and leave the "Lid" open wide.
Turn on the printer with the Lid still open. The carriage unit will now move to the left and to the right, and then stop again at the middle.
You can put back the cartridges according to the color code: C for Color, B for Black.
Close the cover, and try to print a page.

Paper jam cleared but wont start

  1. Unplug the power cable.
  2. Check to see if the print cartridge carriage can move freely from one side of the printer to the other. If the carriage is to the right and out of plain view, skip to Step five . Do not try to force it to move if it is hung up on something. NOTE: Be careful not to force the print cartridge carriage. If the carriage is stuck, forcing it to move will damage the printer.
    • If the carriage moves freely, skip to Step five .
    • If the carriage does not move, continue with the next step below.
  3. Remove the print cartridges.
  4. Gently move the print cartridge to the far right of the printer.
  5. Remove the paper from the paper In tray, but do not remove the drawer.
  6. Remove the rear access door.
  7. With your fingers, rotate the rollers "up" three full rotations.
  8. Push the rear access door back into the printer until it snaps firmly into place.
  9. Replace the print cartridges.
  10. Plug the power cable into the HP All-in-One.
  11. Turn the power on.
Step five: Reload and test the printer Once the jammed paper is removed, verify that the printer is still functioning properly.
  1. Reload the printer with plain paper.
  2. Perform a self-test by pressing and holding the Resume button until the printer starts printing. A test page should print.
Step six: Service the printer Perform all the steps mentioned above. If problem persists, service the printer.

To replace the print cartridges
1. Make sure the product is on and you have letter or A4 unused plain white paper loaded in the input tray.
2. Open the print cartridge door.
The print carriage should move to the far right side of the product. If the print carriage does not move to the right side, turn the product off, and then on.
3. Wait until the print carriage is idle and silent, and then lightly press down on a print cartridge to release it.
If you are replacing the tri-color print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the left.
If you are replacing the black print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the right.
1 Print cartridge slot for the tri-color print cartridge
2 Print cartridge slot for the black print cartridge
4. Pull the print cartridge towards you out of its slot.
6. Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging, being careful to touch only the black plastic. Gently remove the plastic tape using the pink pull tab.
1 Copper-colored contacts
2 Plastic tape with pink pull tab (must be removed before installing)
3 Ink nozzles under tape
CAUTION: Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or ink nozzles. Touching
these parts can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.
7. Slide the new print cartridge at a slight upward angle into the empty slot. Then gently push on the upper part of the print cartridge forward until it snaps into place.
If you are installing the tri-color print cartridge, slide it into the left slot.
If you are installing the black print cartridge, slide it into the right slot.

Printer prints every second line or prints 4 lines then skips a line or only prints half a line.....the top part of the line is missing.

Hello sir; I believe it's time to clean print head and ink cell, power on the machine open the cover ( as you replace cartridge) , when carriage move to the center , then UNPLUG the power cord. then you may move carriage freely by hand all the way to left, noe you can clean up ink cell easily.

1 Answer

It won't print.

It sounds like the print head is clogged.
Turn it on with the cover open, as soon as the carriage moves unplug it. Slide the carriage to the left, you should see a pad on the right side of the printer. Saturate the pad with water, slide the carriage all the way back to the right, let it sit overnight.

You may have to run it through a few cleaning cycles, but it should print better.

1 Answer

Print cartridge carriage is stalled

Hi,
There are a few steps to follow to check the Printer.

Step one: Turn the All-in-One off and on again
  1. Press the On button to turn the product off.
  2. Press the On button again to turn the product on.
If the error message is not resolved, continue to the next step. Step two: Clear any paper jam Follow these instructions to clear a paper jam. CAUTION: All paper jams must be removed from the back of the product through the rear access door. Pulling the paper from the front of the product rotates the paper feed roller in the wrong direction and can damage the product.
  1. Turn off the product and unplug the power cord.
  2. Turn the product around to access the back of the product.
  3. Open the rear access door:
    1. Locate the tab on the left side of the door and press it toward the right. The door will shift slightly to the right.
    2. As the door shifts to the right, pull the door out slightly to release.
    3. When the door is released, gently remove the door by sliding the door out and to the left.
    1. From the rear access opening, gently pull the jammed paper out of the rollers.
NOTE: If the paper tears when you are removing it from the rollers, check the rollers and wheels for torn pieces of paper that might be remaining inside the product. If all the pieces of paper are not removed from the product, more paper jams are likely to occur.
    1. Replace the rear access door:
    2. Insert the two posts on the right of the door into the holes on the right side of the opening.
    3. Press the tab on the left side of the door toward the right. The door will shift slightly to the right.
    4. As the door shifts to the right, push in the left side of the door to lock it into position.
    5. Reconnect the power cord and turn the product on.
Step three: Make sure that the print carriage can move freely Follow these instructions to make sure the print carriage can move freely.
    1. With the product turned on, open the print cartridge access door. The print carriage might try to move into the access area. If so, allow it to move to that position.
    2. Without turning off the product, unplug the power cord from the back of the product. Unplug the power cord from the power source. The power cord must be unplugged to allow the parts to be moved by hand and to reset the paper feed mechanism, without the risk of an electrical shock.
    3. Looking in through either the print cartridge access door or the output paper tray, make sure the print cartridges are locked into the carriage and have not come loose. Also, make sure that there are no obstructions under or around the carriage to block it from moving.
    4. Make sure the print carriage can move freely across the width of the product by gently pushing the carriage to the left and then to the right. Clear any obstructions found. You may have to reach through the output paper tray to access the print carriage.
    5. Close the print cartridge access door and plug the power cord back to the back of the product. Plug the power cord into the power source.
    6. Press the On button to turn on the product.
If the error message is not resolved, continue to the next step. Step four: Remove the print cartridges Improper placement or installation of the print cartridges can cause a carriage stall error condition. Follow these instructions to remove the print cartridges.
    1. Make sure the printer is turned on.
    2. Open the print cartridge access door, and then wait until the print carriage is idle and silent.
Press down lightly on the end of each print cartridge to release it.
    • The tri-color print cartridge is on the left.
    • The black or photo print cartridge is on the right.
Slide both cartridges out and place them on a clean sheet of paper. CAUTION: Do not touch the ink nozzles or copper-colored contacts. Touching these parts could result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections. Do not remove the copper strips. They are required electrical contacts.

    1. Disconnect the power cord.
    2. Move the carriage all the way to the left with your hand.
    3. Close the print cartridge access door.
    4. Reconnect the power cord.
    5. Turn the product on, if necessary.
    6. If the error message is resolved, the placement of the print cartridges caused the problem. Complete Step five: Reinstall the print cartridges. There is no need to complete any steps after Step five.
If the error message is not resolved, complete Step five: Reinstall the print cartridges, and then continue with the subsequent steps. Step five: Reinstall the print cartridges step 6, Partial reset Follow these instructions to perform a partial reset of the product.
    1. Turn the product off by pressing the On button.
    2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
    3. Plug the power cord back into the product.
    4. Turn the product on by pressing the On button
    1. Load letter, A4, or legal unused plain white paper into the paper tray.
    2. Press the Setup button until Print Report appears, and then press the OK button. Self-Test Report appears on the control panel display.
    3. Press the OK button. The product prints a self-test report.
Hopefully fixing the problem for you
    Regards
    Richard.
