If the spool doesnt spin check the driveline for damage.

If you just have a broken drive cable you can replace or repair it.

If the drive cable is spinning but the connection to the spool is bad then you might look for a replacement spool.

The problem is that the cost of buying these parts is on par with about 40-50% of the cost of replacing the whole unit.

Good luck and be careful!

Trimmer line is spinning but slowly, like it has lost power.

Sounds like just what you said "it's lost power" Are you sure the battery is fully charged? Try another battery if you have one. There is no clutch to slip on this type trimmer. It's got to be either the battery is not putting out enough to turn the motor or the motor itself is bad.

NST1024 trimmer string come off spool when trimmer is turned on

Make sure the line is wound on the spool in the direction indicated by the arrow on the spool. If the line is wound correctly, the auto-feed mechanism may be damaged. You'll probably need to take it back to your retailer to get it repaired. Your trimmer uses .065 size trimmer line and can be purchased in bulk via PartsBuggy.com at discounted prices.

How to extend line

In most trimmers you tap the line spool on the ground while the engine is running and the line extends. When you have the engine off try to manually extend the line. When you push ******* the spool manually with one hand and then pull on the line with the other hand the line may extend. If it does and you tap it in the same place as you push it while the engine is running then the line should extend durring operation. I hope this helps.

Poulan25cc 16 inch how do i rewind trimmer line on my poulan 1500 gas trimmer

You should wind it on the spool the opposite direction that it spins while operating it. If you wind it in the same direction as the spin, the line will come off the spool when in operation.

I cant remove the spool to change the line. it appears to be stuck.

Well there is either a screw knob that must be unscrewed first, or you aren't removing it correctly. Some just Pull/pop right off. Others must be pushed in and twisted (Like a child proof cap) usually in the opposite direction the line spins. Pull the cord a tiny bit to see which way it spins, then push down/in on the spool (its spring loaded) and twist opposite. Most of today's trimmers will give you the spool like that. Putting it back on it simply the reverse action.

I have replaced the line spool with a new one and it will not run

hey mate, the best thing to do would be try eliminate sections if the head does not spin remove it see if the arbor that the head connects spins with the head removed, if it still does not spin remove remove your drive shaft and check if motor actually spins some of these contain sheer pins to prevent damage to the motor, I would highly reccomend this be done by a professional as there is moving parts and electric motor involved... hope this helps

How do you add trimmer line to Troy Bilt TB539E Weed Eater?

This model trimmer uses .095" diameter line, your local home improvement store will carry replacement line and it will also carry a replacement spool with the line already spooled on it.

This trimmer is a "bump advance" trimmer meaning you bump the head on the ground while it is spinning to advance line out.

What to do to replace the line is place the trimmer on a stable flat surface (like a workbench), raise up the head if the trimmer and unscrew the cap and CAREFULLY remove the spool...you do not want to lose the spring! Take a look at the spool, it will show the direction to spool the line, spool the line then replace the spool by first putting the spring back on the shaft, then put the end of the line through the hole(s) on the side of the outer head, press the spool in place and screw the cap back on.

Of course you can eliminate about 90% of the headaches by buying a pre-spooled head at your local home improvement store...then you follow the directions above and can skip the spooling part. Cheers!

Which way do you wind up the trimmer line so it doesn`t hang up on the spool when you need more line?

The direction of winding is on the spool and/or in the manual, if the line is getting stuck here are some tips:

Use only premium quality line of the correct size and shape, do not buy the mega rolls that will last you a lifetime rather buy the small roll each spring as the line can get brittle and weaken over time.
Avoid winding the line tight like fishing line on a reel and while winding occasionally dust it with baby powder.
Do not fill the spool with line more than half way.
Practice running the trimmer only fast enough to do the job, running the trimmer wide open is necessary only to add power for thick weeds. Running at high RPM makes the gear head, spool and line to overheat which can make the line 'vulcanize' to itself. You will also find that running at half or less speed uses up much less line and will make the trimmer last longer.

If you find that much of your trimming is in high, dense weeds such as a ditch that gets trimmed three or four times a year you may want to invest in a different head that utilizes plastic blades that swing out when spinning, these are much better than they were in the past and work great by limiting the cutting to a smaller area, they are stiffer and cut heavy weeds better. I chose a trimmer with the strait shaft and quick-link so I can easily change from the brush hog, line or swing out trimmer. I use the line trimmer only in areas where a deft touch is required such as around trees, shrubs or other delicate plants I do not want to accidentally scar or damage.
