Hello Rohan75,

I am not aware of any reset procedure for the Motorola T5500. The manual does not list any reset function. (Manual available via Motorola's website here: http://www.motorola.com/mdirect/manuals/T50-T55_UserGuide.pdf)

From what you describe, it sounds like one of the units has some sort of hardware fault. It is possible that a simple reset (if there is one) may not fix this issue and the unit may need to be repaired or replaced.

Best Regards,
Ken

Just got these - even when on the same channel, they dont seem to communicate with each other - am I missing something?

yes, there are 2 things that must match. First is channel (frequency), the 2nd is Code. So, for instance, you could have channel 1, code 2 and a radio with channel 1, code 3 will not talk to each other.

I have 4 motorola walkie talkies the channel numbers on one do not match the other three when they are on the same frequency how do i reset the one that is wrong

If they're not exactly the same model they may have different channel indexes. If the "oddball" is a combination FRS/GMRS or if the other 3 are, they'll have different numbering. As long as you can talk between all of them, just make note of the "right" numbers when they're working.

WILL THE MU24CVS AND THE MU21CV CAN THE TALK TO EACH OTHER

Yes. They would simply need programmed to match. MU24 is a 4 channel radio, so you would need to leave it on channel one to match the 1 channel MU21 model.

Here is a link to the user guide where you can read about programming the radios: http://www.giantintl.com/RadioPDFs/Outdated%20Manuals/Spirit_M_Series_E.pdf

Best regards.

I have a green signal light that keeps blinking? My radio will not reset when I try to reset it.

Accirding to the manual, which can be found at,
http://inform3.kenwoodusa.com/Manuals/USA_LMR/TK-2200%203200_B62-1791-00.pdf,

To start scanning, press the Scan key.
• The LED indicator flashes green and scanning starts from the
current channel and ascends through the channel numbers.
• When a signal is detected on a channel and the QT/ DQT
matches, scan pauses at that channel and the LED indicator
lights green.
• When the signal is no longer present, scanning continues after 3
seconds (default).

As far as the radio not resetting, I would suggest contacting Kenwood:

By Phone/Fax:
Land Mobile & Business Radio Divisions
Phone: (678) 474-4700
Fax: (678) 474-4730

Hope this helps,

Can nice motorola GP340 talk to an FRS/GMRS w/ interference code?

If your GP340 is a UHF model, YES, you can have it programmed to match your TalkAbout radios. And yes, the GP340 has programmable privacy code capability.

If you do not know if your GP340 is VHF or UHF, you can tell by looking the model number, it will contain the following pattern: __H25RCC4AN3__. UHF models will have the letter R after the "25". VHF models will have the letter K.

When you have your GP340 programmed, the power setting will need to be turned down to the appropriate level to match the TalkAbout radios. Both for legal reasons, and also to protect your TalkAbout radios. You will not want the powerful GP340 to overpower the PA (power amp) in your TalkAbout radios.

The talkabout t5500 and the t5725

Hello bella-9,

The T5500 is a 2 channel radio and the T5725 is a 14 channel radio. However, the radios should be compatible with each other on FRS channels 1-14 as long as both radios are using the same Quiet Talk code. If the Quiet Talk settings are different the radios will not be able to communicate with one another.

Assuming all settings are the same (as you say) and the units are within range of each other (typically less then a mile over clear, level terrain) they should work just fine.

They just don't seem to work!

I have a new pair of 5500. It seems not working, but I discover that using channel 1 in one and channel 2 in the other they work, the same if using channel 2 in one I have to select 3 in the other, it is like a frecuency error. Maybe is the same with yours.
