Now my computer is acting kind of crazy. Errors pop up and I cant even look up information in help and support under my start menu. I dont know what else to do and I really need my computer because I go to school online. So anyone, PLEASE HELP!!!! Thanks!

I downloaded that framework utility before I posted my problem on here. I tried to uninstall framework with that utility then I restarted my computer. But when I went to install/uninstall programs Framework 3.5 was still on there. So I ran it a couple more times and restarted my computer every time but still no luck : - (. I even tried to install it from the Microsoft website but that didn't work either. Is there any other steps I can take to solve this issue? Also, what is framework exactly? Is it that important to have on a computer? Thanks for all of your help!!

What is .NetFramework and why it is necessary?

Basically is a platform on which a piece of software is run depending on the which platform the developer uses to make the software.
For details information read this, HERE

Most probably when the version .NetFramework you first install is not the correct version for you OS version when on your PC.

You can try this from http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive... using Aaron Stebner’s .NET Framework Setup Cleanup Utility to cleanup all versions your .NetFramework before reinstalling.

    Do read the instructions carefully.

    Hopefully it helps.

OK. That was the same link I used in the beginning to uninstall Framework. I downloaded the tool, used it, and restarted the computer. I tried to download the same updates that windows update stated, separately. When I try to download framework 3.5 I always receive an error code. The error code is 1603. I also downloaded a framework detector to figure out which framework is still installed on my computer. The only framework that is installed on my computer is NET Framework 2.0. Every time I shut down my computer it tries to download those updates that I listed earlier but every time if fails.

I used the .NET Framework Cleanup tool a bunch of times and tried to install each framework separately after I ran the cleanup tool and restart the computer but it still didn't fix anything. Is there anything else I can do to fix this problem?

Remove all versions of the .NET framework.

Use a "Registry Cleaner" to clean up the remnants craps first.

Then install .NET 2.0 SP1, followed by .NET 3.0 SP1

IMPORTANT! => If you remove .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, reinstall your .NET
Framework versions in the following order:

    1. .Net Framework 3.5, then...
    2. .Net Framework 1.1, then...
    3. .Net Framework 1.1 SP1

    Alternatively you can try,

    "Instant-registry-fixes.org"

3 Resolution Methods from http://www.instant-registry-fixes.org/fi... ( *take note some Antivirus programs regards this site as "Risks" 'cos they uses "Registry fixes" to changed the Registry)

    or

    "personalcomputerfixes.com"

    http://www.personalcomputerfixes.com/reg...

Assumming that your PC is free from any "Dangerous Objects & Virus, etc...)

    Regards

Microsoft updates do not install

You have not said which OS you are using so; from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943144

When you try to install Windows updates from the Windows Update Web site, the Microsoft Update Web site, or by using Automatic Update, you receive a message that the update is not installed successfully. Additionally, the update is not displayed in the update history.

You may experience this issue in the following scenarios:

Scenario 1 You try to install updates after repair a Windows XP installation by using the Windows XP CD.
Scenario 2 You perform the following operations before you try to install Windows updates:

You perform a new installation of Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2).
You visit the Windows Update Web site, or the Microsoft Update Web site.
Note When you visit the update Web site, the latest version of Windows Update software will be installed in your computer.
You install Windows XP Service Pack (SP3) without a restart.
You try to install Windows updates after the install of Windows XP SP3.

Then cause ;

This issue occurs because the Wups2.dll file that is included in the latest version of Windows Update is not installed correctly.

For scenario 1, the registry entries that correspond to the Wups2.dll file are missing after the repair install of Windows XP. The release version of Windows XP does not contain the Windows Update software.

For scenario 2, the registry entries that correspond to Windows Update are changed back to the Windows XP SP2 version if you did not restart the computer before you install Windows XP SP3. The registry entries for the Wups2.dll file are changed to pointing to the Wups.dll file that is included in the release version of Windows XP SP2.
To resolve this problem, use one of the following methods;

Method 1: Download and install the Windows Update Agent,
For an x86-based computer; http://download.windowsupdate.com/WindowsUpdate/redist/standalone/7.4.7600.226/WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe

For an x64-based computer http://download.windowsupdate.com/WindowsUpdate/redist/standalone/7.4.7600.226/WindowsUpdateAgent30-x64.exe

Method 2: Register the Wups2.dll file,

To have MS register the Wups2.dll file in Windows for you, go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943144#FixItForMeAlways.

If you prefer to fix this problem yourself,

To register the Wups2.dll file in Windows, follow these steps:

1. Stop the Automatic Updates service. To do this, follow these steps:
a. Open the Command Prompt window. To do this, click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
b. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
net stop wuauserv

2. Register the Wups2.dll file. To do this, follow these steps:

a. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\wups2.dll

Note For a computer that is running Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
regsvr32 %windir%\syswow64\wups2.dll

b. Click OK if you receive a verification message.

3. Start the Automatic Updates service. To do this, type the following command at the command prompt, and then press ENTER:
net start wuauserv

4. Exit the Command Prompt window. To do this, type exit at the command prompt, and then press ENTER.

Am trying to download Office 2010,but the comp. tells me I am not running the XP sp3. How do I fix this ? My comp. does automatic updates.

Manually install the updates by going to the Microsoft Update website. Click start, select all programs, and select Windows update. Allow the updates to download and install. Continue to update until all have been installed. You may have to return to the update page several times before Service Pack 3 can be downloaded and installed.

Lost SP3 windows xp home edition version 2002 how do i get it back or do i need to I have automatic updates turned on when I look at programs beside it ,there no file size? also how do I fix error...

If you mean no file size showing up in "Add / Remove Programs"
thats because it's integrated / uninstallable but registered.

Error: 0x80070005, is that when you access "Microsoft Update"?

As for repairing SP3 Read more here:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/help/learn-how-to-install-windows-xp-service-pack-3-sp3

and you probably have to go for option:
"Manually installing SP3 using the Microsoft Download Center or a CD"

On March 6, 2008 Microsoft released Service Pack 3 (SP3) for Windows XP. Service Pack 3 contains all of the important Windows updates from previous service packs as well as additional updates that were released after Service Pack 2. To install Windows XP Service Pack 3 from the Internet on a home desktop computer use the Windows Update feature. CAUTION: If you have an HP Pavilion, HP Media Center or Compaq Presario desktop computer that has an AMD processor, your PC might encounter a startup problem after installing SP3 (or SP3 will not download from Windows Update). Before attempting to install SP3, install sp37394 - Microsoft Windows XP SP3 Upgrade Utility for systems with AMD processors .
