Question about Uniden DECT 6.0 Cordless Telephone Expansion Handset

1 Answer

My problem is not the phone but with the user - me. I have just bought a Uniden Dect 1580 series and I am unable to figure out from the user's guide how to set up the phonebook. I have about 35 names & numbers to insert and after trying for several hours today, I am still at square one. Can you guide me - step by step - in writing - so I have the written word to which to refer as I input the remaining 34 names. I am beginning to think that I should not have abandoned the VTech which was so easy to use. I know that this is not rocket science.

You will understand each control if you go to page no. 12 and then at page no.5.

To go to the phone book menu you have to press left button in the middle (circle).
And if you want to feed contacts go the the Phonebook Menu Options.
The controls given o page 12 is described in pag 4. Just follow the instructions and you will be able to solve he problem.
Here is the MANUAL.
If you need any other help you can revert back for further assistance.
Good luck and have a nice day.

Phonebook/Left = Left button on the middle circular button

Menu/select = Right button below the screen

Press Phonebook/Left then press Menu/select. Then you will get Create New and Delete All option. You will have to choose Create New to feed contacts. When you choose this option you will be prompted to enter phone no. and name for the contact. Similarly you can feed other contacts in this manner.

Thank you, Ranglo, for your help with my phone book difficulties. The biggest help was the manual; it's size alone was excellent. I had a small manual which came with the phonel but it was difficult to read all of the instructions, they were so scrunched together. I have printed many of the pages which I will save for future reference. I do feel that the included manual left much to be desired. If I had not had a cordless phone before, I would have really been out in left field trying to interpret their instructions.I wonder if the original was written in a foreign language and translated into English, which seldom works.
Many thanks for the quick response.
