I bought a playstation 3 back in March 08, where I connected into my HD tv, but tried playing the new Pro Evo and the players were extremly slow. Took the game back and swapped it for Virtua Tennis 3. I have just tried playing, where again the game play is extremly slow. I have Call of Duty 4 and Army of Two, which are not slow - they are normal. Has anyone got a solution.

I am a gaming console repair technician and this sounds to me like there is a bug in the games code. You should inform the creators of the game (EA Sports) of this issue via their forum here: http://forum.ea.com/uk/categories/show/10.page;jsessionid=721E7F2EE8DB5EACDF21E4AADD07DAE8
If you bought the ps3 used then the person before you probably had an HD TV and didn't change the settings back to AVI. You need to find a HD TV and change the settings back to AVI then you can play your PS3....or vice versa.
Make sure the AV Cable is connected to the [AV MULTI-OUT] port on the back of the PLAYSTATION 3 system.
Connect the other end of the AV Cable into the yellow Composite
port for video, and into the white and red audio ports (if your TV does
not have the red port, simply ignore it) on the back of your TV.
While the PLAYSTATION 3 system is in standby mode (red light on the
front of the system), hold down the touch-sensitive On/Off button on
the front of the system until the system goes into standby mode again .
(So the light cycle would go from: red light to --> green light
--> then back to red light) This will ensure that you have held
down the On/Off button long enough to reset the Video Output Settings.
Turn ON the PLAYSTATION 3 and once the system finishes powering up,
the Video Output Settings will automatically be reset to the standard
resolution (or detect the current display output settings of your
Try to connect to a different tv, also is the playstation 3 have any abnormal colors on the console, like the playstation 2 is green when on but I think they change to red if something is wrong. You will need to eliminate the problem at a time, hook the PS2 to tv, if it works fine then connect PS3 again, if doesn't look right, then it is no good.
You should get a good surge protector. Sometimes some areas have a spike in the power. That will cause interference in the TV signal coming from your PS 3. Try out different surge protectors that should solve your problem.
