Are you installing it in a GE panel? Look on panel cover and it will list the compatable breakers. Even though some breakers "fit" different brand panels, they ar not approved if not listed by manufacturer of the panel to be used in that panel

Oh, I didn't notice the exact number. If this is a 1/2 size breaker there are two facts. 1-It installs between spaces (connecting to two poles on the bus) 2- The panel only alllows certain spaces to accept these breakers. You will notice a small vertical tab on bussbar for it to plug onto. Problem wih these is you'll leave 1/2 space vacant above and below breaker unless you have some 1/2 size single pole too. Prior to 2008 a panel could only hold 42 ckts.

I have a Fimco 2100 model sprayer that keeps blowing the fuse. Wiring is all ok. Pump doesn't even attempt to turn on. Fuse blows almost 1 second after pump switch is turned on. Pressure gauge never...

The breaker is too small, the cord is too small, the starter motor on that thing draws 18 amps. It will trip any 15 amp breaker and any 20 amp breaker with something else running, any cord will drop the amp below the starter winding min. make sure nothing is running, separate circuit if you can find one, no extension cord, and a 20 amp breaker in the fuse box. if that is not the problem , then something is shorting out when you hit the switch. Check the wiring on the pump and make sure all is secure, no loose wires, no sparks. My compressor won't run on any old plug, has to be 20 amp, has to be without a cord or with a heavy cord, and has to be hot out, if it is cold, forget it!. We have to keep the compressors in a heated room so they will run in the winter. Hope this helps.

Power interrupted during cycle. now it won't do anything. I think it needs a reset. checked fuse box, it was fine.

As a general rule, what you are describing happens if the power is interrupted for a short time and the machine doesn't get a chance to do a reset before the power comes back. There is a good chance if you power the unit off then actually unplug it from the wall and leave it 20 minutes it should do a reset and be OK. REcognising this is a built in, I would hope there is an isolator switch somewhere nearby you can flick, but if not you will have to switch the breaker that feeds the kitchen in your breaker box.

Can a 240 volt outlet be ran off this breaker and can a 240 volt electric baseboard heater be wired to it or should i use double pole breaker?

You need 240 breaker:
Notice that your 240V breaker is twice as wide as regular 120V breaker.
Notice that both switches are tied together on 240V breaker, making this a double-pole breaker.

Power windows stopped working

If ALL the windows quit working, then it's either a bad circuit breaker or a short circuit. There are two fuse/relay/breaker panels: under the hood and under the back seat cushion. The power window circuit breaker is under the back seat cushion, near the battery. Remove the back seat completely, then remove the fuse panel top and inner cover. The fuse diagram is inside the top cover. Circuit breaker # 57 is the one. Pull it out. Use your voltmeter/multi-tester to check for continuity through the breaker. If there's no continuity, the breaker is bad and needs to be replaced. If it's good, then you have a dead short somewhere that causes the self-resetting breaker to uncouple when you attempt to operate a window. If so, the short will need to be traced down and repaired. Good luck.

Federal Pacific Breaker and whirlpool appliances

You have the wrong breaker You need to buy a breaker that pulls power on each side of the bus if it is not a single pole double trow switch it will not work on the box. It needs to get power from both buss bars. Go to a electrical warehouse to get the right one.

Compressor causes 20 amp breaker to trip.

If I did the math correctly, 5.5 HP is right at the boarderline of 20 amps, particularly for an older machine that has some deteriorating electronics.

What to do? Can you reconfig the motor to run on 220 Volts??? It would then run on 1/2 the amps.

If you have a dedicated 120 line for this compressor now ... all you have to do to change that to 220 is change the breaker (I presume you have a vacant slot to do this). Find the "neutral" for that wire (white) ane make it the "red" for your compressor line ... (and mark it as such for your future behefit) change the outlet from 110 V 20 A to 220 V 20 A. Both lines will run on #12 with G wire.

If you dont have a slot, you could change one of your standard slots to a "piggy back" remodeling style breaker (has two breakers in one slot). This will free up one slot in your panel for the new 220 (double pole) breaker.

Let me know what you think

I own a YS 4500 Craftsman tractor (Model No. 917 287 242). It was running fine the last time I used it but then wouldn't start. No response when turning key. I checked battery with multimeter - it's fine....

If you think it is the seat switch you can check it with your multimeter, just unplug it and check the resistance across the switch with and without pressure on the seat where the switch is located. Another way to test would be to take a short jumper wire, unplug the switch and jump across the 2 wires in the plug, then try to start it.
I would be more inclined to think it is the fuse in your system, however. Most of the time the fuse is a plug in fuse located on the right side of the tractor, behind the back of the engine and is usually a blue (15 amp) or yellow (20 Amp)

The dryer will not turn on. I know I have power because the light is on. But nothing happens when I hit start

Check for a tripped circuit breaker (a ganged double breaker), sometimes only one breaker trips without tripping the other. Switch breakers off and then back on. If you have access to a voltmeter, check for 220 volts AC at the the two slanted slots in the dryer socket. Occasionally, one breaker of the pair will fail internally--replace the pair. If 220 volts is present, then problem is internal to the dryer. Usually, it is a short circuit in the heating element which causes the circuit breaker trip.
