Question about Dishwashers

I have a Fisher Paykel Dishwasher Model 920 that floods (F1 fault) since the Inlet soloniod was replaced. What determines the water level? I dont see any detectors other than the flood switch sensor in the base.

Just had the same F1 error message. I figured the drain lines were clogged so i hooked my compressor up to them and blew air in the lines for about 5 seconds at 60 psi. It is not giving me the error message anymore and seems to be running fine.

Flood switch 920 model

Not sure what the actual model number is but usually the F1 error with Fisher and Paykel dishwasher means water has entered the flood switch located at the base. This could be due to leaky hoses or water leaking through the door or lid seal. Wait for a day or two until the water evaporates and try again. Otherwise you will have to dry out the flood switch and then try again. Location of flood switch will depend on your model. For double drawer dishwasher you will have to take the bottom drawer out from the housing and the switch is on the floor of housing. But make sure you take the mains power chord out before touching the insides of dishwasher. Will also need to find the cause of the leak. Other reason for F1 could be loss of power to top dishdrawer if you have double drawer. But in that case the top drawer will have no lights on. The power board is located on the base of housing under bottom drawer. Once again do not touch inside of dishwasher without shutting off mains power.

Our fisher and paykel dishdrawer won't wash. It comes up with F1 and flashing light on control panel.

the dynamo dishwashing stuff has caused foaming which reached the base of the dishdrawer unit causing the flood switch to trip. This gives F1 error.
Not sure how much foaming has occured.

Best to turn off power and take power cable out from socket. then empty the drawer using towels. pull out the bottom drawer and wait a day or so to let the foam disappear from the bottom of dishwasher (under the bottom drawer). Connect the power and see if F1 had gone. If not, you need more work. Post a comment based on the above suggestion and I will guide you further if required. Always use Finish dishwasher power only (recommended quantity) as the drawers are small and don't need much detergent.

How to reset the flood switch on a fisher & paykel

Hi - unfortunately my good friend it cannot be reset as one would like quite easily anyhow... water has found its way to the base of the drwaers and have activated the flooding switch - one could pull it apart to dry it - tip the water out from the base but if the leaks not repaired you will have the same problem later and will be on-going.

5 Fault Codes

F1 in F&P 2 drawer dishwasher

You will need to be a bit more specific when you say "no flood".

Are you having this F1 fault in one or both drawers?

What did the engineer do when he was there last time?

Does the F1 code flash with beeps?

What happens when you turn the mains power off and on after a short delay?

Please provide the actual model number of your fisher and paykel 2 drawer dishwasher.

F1 fault

F1 code would mean the flood switch is activated.

In Nautilus people have found this to be caused by a faulty door seal.
Water seeps under the diswasher base panel and finally the flood switch (a protection) activates.

The solution is to replace door seal after drying out under the base panel.

Have f1 fault cant get bottom draw out to check for moister build up

The reason that you are getting F1 fault might be the dishwasher drawer is flooding. The drawer not opening is perhaps due to either the keylock being activated or the controller has gone into some unkown state.

Try turning the mains water inlet water tap off and also switch off the power. Turn everthing back on and then check if you can open the drawer. If you have water inside the drawer you may need to empty it manually with a small container. If it floods again, then the solenoid that turns of the power or the water level sensor might be faulty.

My Fisher Paykel dishwasher is flashing F1 - top drawer only. The bottom drawer is working just fine.

F1 error means the flood switch in the drawer is activated. If there is water inside when you open the drawer then you will have to manually empty it with a small container.

Most likely the solenoid that controls inlet water is faulty or the water level sensor is faulty.

Try turning the mains power and water off and on again and run dishwasher. If fault persists then you may have replace the parts.

HI my fiser and paykel dishwasher is flashing f1 and is showing a spanner whay does this mean

The F1 error means a flood switch has been activated in the drawer. The spanner means you need to call a technician.

The possible causes are that the solenoid that controls the water inlet does not shut off or the sensor that detects the water level is not working. Also it is possible the water pressure is not optimum for the setting on your unit.
