Question about Dometic RM2652 Refrigerator

1 Answer

My Model RM2852 Refer will not change from electric to gas. It tries. The igniter is working and gas appears to be on for about 30 seconds and then kicks off and stays off. Inside the "Auto" light is on but after about the same 30 seconds the "Check light comes on and stays on. Any ideas on what to replace? I am 1500 miles from home. Thanks for any suggestions.

The same thing happend to me, Try changing the thermocoupler. it's a probe that is mounted just above the flame or get the coupler tested. this part only cost me $23.00 easy to change. But if not it might be the lower circuit board.

I got a RM 2852 IN A 5TH WHEEL. It will work fine on gas,but 110v does not work,Any suggestions? Thanks,David

We were told that its a faulty control board on most Rm2852 units. a factory defect.
Ours did the same thing first the gas would not stay on to cool but the unti worked fine on electric...now the electric is not working...the heater gets hot and burner comes on but does not stay on..they system shuts down..and will not cool. .

I just purchased a rv with a dometic refrigerator 9cu/ft and I hear something running all the time especially during the day. Is it normal to be running like this. Not enough information in manual

IF you have a light load in the refer it may run full time in an attempt to cool
Try this
Fill the unit with anything cold, water jugs work very well see if in a day your problem goes away
If this does not solve your issue you may have a control board issue
You did not state if you are running on electric or LP gas

Oven takes 5 minutes to come on (ignite).

Replaced the igniter. The parts guy told me that the amperage changes with age and use; thus the igniter still glows, but it takes much longer to operate the gas valve with the reduced amperage. Cost - $70.14

I HAVE A 1997 FLEETWOOD RV WITH ORIGINAL DOMETIC RM2852 REF IN IT. ALL POWER SEAMS TO WORK (LIGHTS ARE ON PLUGED IN OR OFF OF GAS BUT THE WHOLE PROBLEM IS THE REF OR FREEZER WILL NOT GET COLD

Largest problem is with the cooling unit going bad on these unit at about your units age.
But first
check your 12 volt fuses and make sure both the fuses in the back of the refer and the fuse in the power distribution panel are good
Must have 12 volt for the gas to work

Sounds like your ignitor porcelain is cracked. Yes there is a miliamp signal sent to the circuit board to stop the ingnitor from arcing

Broiler works, as do burners. The oven will not come on. Gas whirlpool range 2003 year. Model SF367LEKB

jdelvecchio5Does the igniter (glow bar) come on whenever the bake function is selected.?

If the glow bar does not come on the safety valve will not open - no bake burner. check the electrical harness first then Try changing the igniter (glow bar first) before changing the safety valve/regulator.
