Question about Panasonic Televison & Video
If you have never replaced the projection lamp on this TV it is most likely to be the reason for the dark screen. The replacement of this lamp can be a DIY repair but I do not suggest it as one. Often the convergence needs to be done and there are dangers inside that cabinet that many consumers are not aware of. The cost of the lamp alone will be in the $300 ballpark. There are other things that could be causing the problem. A failure is the power supply section is a good possibility. If the problem is not the lamp the TV will have to be repaired by a person with the needed test equipment to diagnose the problem and replace the defective components. Often the defective part became defective due to another part failure. A bad capacitor or resistor often causes this problem. TV repair is not a DIY project. The equipment needed to diagnose the problem is expensive and the knowledge to use this equipment and make the repairs will require several years of training. I would recommend that a electronics service company be called to do the repair.
