Hi,

Nitromors are used to remove oil based paints, enamels, varnishes, shellac, cellulose, plastic coatings, lacquers, stove finishes, polyurethanes, emulsion paints, synthetic finishes, French polish, tar and many other coatings.

So, yes - i would say that more likely this product would have caused discolored enamel surface on the top plate of your oven.

Good Luck!!

Thanks!!

    Thanks for your response!!

Unfortunately, there is nothing much you could do.I am sorry, but it's always better to be honest. The enamel surface is already destroyed. You cannot restore it.Trying different products might make the situation worse.

    Good Luck!!

    Thanks!!

Nitromors is quite strong but i doubt that it could do that, especially if it was highly diluted. But if the unit is old (at least 5 years) ,well used, then the enamel was weakened by constant heating and cooling so it's possible, especially if the discoluring is very superficial. In that case to fix it all you need to do is to polish it with car polish.

As i said, since the solution was diluted and the enamel strong then most likely it's just surface deep. All you need is to polish it away. Use any brand of car polish (not car wax or similar, polish) and just rub the affected area, the discolored layer will be wiped away.

Hi

Nitromors is a very strong solution and can cause the paint & varnish to remove very easily. It can cause the enamel to fade away easily. Please use the nitromors carefully and throw away the cloth that you use with nitromors.

Hope this helps... If it does please do not forget to accept the solution or post back for assistance.

What's the best way to protect water based enamel paint? I painting a night stand for my daughter and I don't want it to scratch easily. Oil based enamel is more durable but its not an option.

try painting it over with a 2 pack clear epoxy paint
2 pack epoxy paint is about the hardest surface you can get and the clear finish will show the original paint color through
or paint it again using the color in epoxy 2 pack paint

A number of days ago we put two plates of food in the microwave to reheat them. There was a snap, crackle, pop noise. We checked to see there was no metal object in the unit....there wasn't ...we know...

Are you sure the plates were Microwave oven safe? Some dishes have metal in the colors of the design. A snap, crackle, pop noise normally means there is metal present in the oven.

I have a range master 110 clasic 2007 when the small oven was switched on a fan would come on. my engineer says that this model has no fan because it is gas.

I have a Rangemaster and like yours is dual fuel. Gas hob and electric oven. The large oven is fan assisted but the small oven, on the right hand side of the range) is self cleaning and not fan assisted.
Hope that helps.

Yes they can be cleaned. prepared and painted with enamel paint.
The reason the paint comes off is usually due to condensation as the oven is left with the door closed after use.

Whirlpool Range RF315PXDW. Electric range. Top burners and oven will not turn on. Clock on top of stove and oven light turn on. Oven preheat timer operates but heating elements in oven do not turn on....

It sounds like you are missing part of your input voltage.

I would take a voltage reading at the receptacle and confirm you are reading 220-240VAC. Some homes have the 220 service receptacles wired up with two 120 volt breakers to make up your 220 service. If your home is configured this way, you may have one of the breakers tripped. Or, the receptacle itself may be bad. If you confirm you have the correct voltage at the receptacle, your power cord may be bad.

The reason the clock and display will still appear to work is because the clock only uses 110-120VAC and is tapped off the source voltage. The surface burners and the oven heating elements, however, require the full 220 service.

If you are confused by this explanation, please post back and let me know. Hopefully, this is a problem that will not require any parts or a service call. If the power cord is bad, you can purchase a replacement at any hardware store. I hope this information is helpful.

Flash in oven

The flash is usually caused by metal either being placed inside of micro or the interior surface might have chipped enamel exposing the metal underneath. Make sure no metal materials are placed inside while using and that the interior surface is in good condition.

Non-Stick surface peeling off inside microwave.

Normally you can strip and sand the old paint, get it squeaky clean, and use appliance paint. Yes indeed it is a heat-resistant enamel. You can get it from appliance parts stores, Wal-Mart, or home centers, etc. BUT if it's under warranty I would call GE Customer Relations with your model and serial numbers. They're at 1-800-386-1215 (8-6 ET) and I would also suggest you ask them for a referral to a GE-authorized servide center in your area. Good luck. I appreciate your thoughtful rating of this answer.
