Check if the shredder is jammed If the shredder doesn't appear to be jammed, check that the basket is pushed all the way under the cabinet. Also, the shredder may need a rest. Turn switch to the REVERSE position for two seconds and then back to AUTO (l) position. Move power switch to OFF (O) position and allow shredder motor to cool down for 20-30 minutes. If this doesnt fixes the problem counsult a local tech.

Check that there are no paper clips or obstructions in the shredding blades. Try to go 'reverse' to get obstruction out.

I read that it has a 3 year warranty, in case you bought it in this period.

The motor is supposed to be a continuous duty type.

Just got a kenmore sewing machine model #158-900. It is powered with your knee. When I plug in it automatically starts running and can't shut it off. Any suggestions would be appreciated

On old machines there will be two power cords coming from the machine, one for the motor and one for the light. They in turn plug into a receptacle block with outlets marked motor and light. It sounds like your motor is plugged into the light receptacle. If you can find the block try rearranging the plugs.

I just got my Juki 1541 DNU walking foot machine. The light comes on, like the machine is on, but when I push the presser foot nothing happens.

juki-1541-detail-pupyr0ualaj20obfvyre1rzh-1-0.jpg Both the motor and the light work off the switch box separately USUALLY.
1. Look under your machine to see where the cord to the light is coming from. If the light cord is coming directly from the switch and the light is on, we can check that off our problems.
2. Now we need to see why the machine isn't moving. If you have a fairly new machine, it probably has a Servo motor which doesn't really make any noise when it runs. If you have an older larger motor, you may be able to hear the motor run when you turn it on. One way or the other, you still need to make sure if the belt is on both the motor and the hand wheel. Using a flash light or other bright light, follow the path under the machine of the black belt for your machine. It should go around a pulley on the right side of the motor and go up through the table and around the hand wheel on the right side of the machine. Because of the belt cover that is on your machine to keep us from getting things caught in the belt, it is almost impossible to see from up above. There is also a cover on the end of the motor sometimes and its hard to see in it.
3. If your belt does connect the motor and the sewing machine head as it should, press on the foot pedal while it is plugged in and turned on. If the motor pulley turns but the machine doesn't, your problem is in the machine. If the motor pulley doesn't turn, your motor is probably bad. If the motor turns, and the machine doesn't, try to turn the handwheel on the machine and see if it is jammed with thread or something else.
Once you isolate the problem, post again and we'll go to the next step. :)

What would cause my Kenmore sewing machine's light to turn on but the motor seem to have no power?

The wiring for the older Kenmore is simple. The light switch completes the connection to the light. If the foot pedal has failed or connection loose where the wire attaches from the foot-pedal the motor will not run.

Also if the brushes in the motor are worn or failing to contact the motor internally the motor will not run.

With light on and pedal partially depressed attempt to activate motor to determine if brush connection are faulty. If the motor reacts at all the brushes will likely need to be replaced.

No success borrow a foot pedal from a friend or sewing center to determine if the pedal control is faulty.

Hope this helps?

The alarm light to empty the coffe grounds drawer AND the descaling light flash alternately I cleaned the brew group. Machine comes ready, but when I press to make a coffee it comes back with alternate...

Hi, the problem with your machine is with the grinder motor (not working). As soon as you press the coffee the CPU senses the motor is out of circuit and the lights start flashing alternately.
You can test it by doing this. Press and hold the steam button and switch on the machine, you will see the lights going around in anticlockwise direction. Release the button then turn the dial to left (Min) and press the steam button the grinder should work. The dial on the right (Max) the brew group will come up..and half way it will come back to normal position. Press the coffee button in that position will work the pump. Servicecenter can fix this if the machine is less than 2 year old FOC.

I have power to machine because light comes on but motor does not turn on.

most of the time when your brush headlight comes on and the motor does not its inside the motor compartment, could be a loose wire to the motor or a bad motor

2. Pressing on all 5 functions except START button (Rinse Hold, Rinse+, Time Saver, Pre Wash, Stain).
Red lights will flash .
3. Pressing on Start button and simultaneously starting to turn clockwise till OFF position.
