This is because your phone does not support Tamil (Hindi) fonts. You need to download and install the appropriate font files first. Search Psiloc.com for crystal Hindi fonts (Devanagari). Here's one for UIQ3. If you cannot find appropriate version, you may need to manually install Hindi fonts.

Hi,
Indic fonts are not supported in this android device.You can read Indic fonts only on Opera Mini.Requires a small configuration change.Type about:config in the addressbar of the Opera MiniSelect Yes for the option, "Use bitmap fonts for complex scripts"Click on Save.Now you can view tamil, hindi, and all indic languages in Opera Mini.

Hi

Are you looking ways to send emails in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, or Malayalam. You can use the Gmail's Indic Transliteration feature, to send email in Indian languages. Currently Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam are supported. When you type message in English, Gmail will automatically convert the word to its Indian local language equivalent (This feature need to be enabled ). This feature enhances the usability of the Gmail service for non-English users.
gmail-language-transliteration.png For ex, "namaste" we will transliterate to Hindi "??????", and "vanakkam" in Tamil will become "???????". Press Ctrl+g to toggle between English and selected language.
How to Enable Indic Transliteration Indian languages feature is enabled by default for Gmail users in India. If not do the following;

I want to read tamil font also. Is it possible to read tamil

Most handsets selling in India includes Tamil language. If you bought it in India, then it should be pre-installed with the firmware/flash files. You can check the language settings options. Open "Menu", "Settings" go to "phone settings", and then "language", and tap downward with the down button, you'll see tamil written in tamil itself (if it's pre-installed), highlight it and press "select" or "Ok", now your phone language's been changed to tamil.

The best option is to set the language to "Auto", means it you'll be able to read any languages installed on the phone when you receive messages with the respective languages.

If it's not installed, you can get it done from a Nokia Service center, they will update the language file of your phone.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.
