Question about Toshiba Computers & Internet

1 Answer

My Toshiba laptop is very slow at booting up. I have been told that it is because I have approx 130 programs in my start up folder. However, short of turning one off and then rebooting for each application, is there some way of determining which app's can be deleted from my start up file?

My pc running very slow, when i start window 7 it will take 20-30 for start. what i do for better performance. i have many time formatting my system . but problem is still fix.

    1)Clean the Temp folder - C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp
    2)Delete unused user profiles
3)Uninstall unused programsfrom Control Panel, Programs, Programs and Features
4)Run CCleaner - should clean up some of those extra caches, temporary files, log files, and other things strewn about your system)
    5)Run Anti-Virus Scan
6)You might also want to take a look at your start-up items in msconfigand uncheck options you don't need. This'll decrease your computer's boot time significantly, not to mention free up a few resources
7)Remove programs in Start-up Folder (Start, All Programs, Startup)

Very slow to boot. Internet is slow. Overall performance is slow. wanting to wipe out all programs on laptop. start from scratch. wasn't like that to start with

Open Task Manager and look in there for the program that grabs most memory and CPU, uninstall it and try again. Do that till it runs smoothly.

Vary slow starting up

Computers are often slowed down on boot because of programs that are starting and running in the background.
To shut prevent these unneeded programs from starting go to: start> run> type: msconfig press enter Select the startup tab and uncheck programs that you do not use. Make sure you do not uncheck any antivirus programs or operating system utilities (you can tell the the manufacturer that is listed and their location, if it has a location such as the windows folder don't uncheck it).
After selecting apply you will be asked if you want to restart your computer, select yes. Upon startup you will be told that you made some modifications. Check the box to never inform you again and click ok.

Dell B-130 way to long to boot up

If you dont have a lot of programs running at start up, then it sounds like you've answered your own question. If youve gone through all the processes to clean up, then thats about it. How about Boot Defrag? How about go to windows folder find Prefetch folder Open it and select all. Then Delete all. Restart your computer. It may take 2 times to start showing improvement.

Toshiba DynaBook T4 Model Laptop is just too slow to Boot / Load

Use registry cleaner like cCleaber, uniblue registry editor or Advanced System Optimizer and configure it to lave only essential programs to start-up, optimize system performance, set menu delay and ability to skip non-essential programs on Start-up. I personally use Advanced System Optimizer for the past 3-4 years and it has worked wonders....sodeep

System board

I hate to say your getting scammed but...........

First. Price for service is unreasonable.

Second, Slow boot=new mobo? I am very sceptical about that diagnosis.

A few questions if I may.
Are there more than 6 icons in your system tray?(lower right corner)
Are there any programs in the startup folder? Start/allprograms/startup.
Have you de-fragged the comp in a while?

After that, consider this. Can you get a newer laptop for 700 bucks? OK, not as nice as yours. Isn't it still under warranty?
