Dell gx270 one continue beep sound no boot

If you heard a beep sounds it means there is a trouble with your memory (RAM) to fix this open your CPU cover, release your ram and try to clean up your RAM (golden color which will connect to the motherboard) using a pencil eraser, and try to remove the dust from the motherboard. After it cleans put again your RAM to the slots and please be careful to put it on right like it was before. Hope it helps

I have a dell optiplex gx270, tried to upgrade my memory with samsung 1gb pc3200 ddr1 but doesnt work, just beeps on start up.

That is the correct memory module (Non-ECC).

Remove all memory modules.
Insert the one Samsung PC3200 module and start up.
If it doesn't boot, then try a different slot.
If it works ok, then add-in your original mamory modules. If they are PC2700, then they may not work together.

Dell Optiplex GX270 - Freezes up!

You may have either a memory chip gone bad or the CPU overheating. Withot seeing it and testing it's hard to tell you which. But one thing you can try is if you have 2 RAM installed, try to remove 1 and see if the problem continues. If so, change them and put the one you removed back and remove the other. if it continues then you may have an overheating problem.

Otherwise, you can try a SCANDISK and DEFRAG to clean up the hard drive and data.

Sacreen resolution problem

There are a couple of different video cards for that model. They're all listed under Video.

Dell GX270 Drivers Page

Check to see if you see either an ATI or NVIDIA sticker on your machine and that will narrow down the choices. Don't worry about downloading and installing the wrong one, nothing will happen except the machine telling you that it's not the right one.

Let me know if you get stuck and please don't forget to rate.

Best of luck!

System couldnot respond after booting dell gx270

Try to check connections between the monitor and the System Unit or what they called CPU. Turn on the computer you must hear 1 beep means the computer start normally. if you haven't, try taking out any new installed hardware but not the video card if you don't have onboard video device and turn on your computer again.. if problem still exist keep in touch.. Orange light on Dell GX270 power button

A solid orange light, usually indicates an internal power problem but just in case try reseating the memory. Also its become a habit on a GX270 to check the capacitors to make sure they aren't bulging.

Dell optiplex Gx 150

This is a problem with your memory.

During POST, the computer checks the computer's memory, determines the amount of installed memory, and then writes to and reads from the number of available bytes to ensure proper operation.
Basic Checks:
  • If an insufficient memory message appears, save and close any open files and exit any open application programs not in use.

  • Consider installing additional system memory.

  • Run the System Memory test in the Dell Diagnostics.

  • Reseat the memory modules.

  • Restart the computer.
If the problem still exists after you complete the basic checks, fill out the Diagnostic Checklist as you perform the following steps.
caution.gif CAUTION: Before you perform this procedure, see "Safety Information."
  1. Reboot the computer.
Does the RAM count displayed correctly match the actual amount of memory installed in the computer?
Yes. The computer needed to update the memory count. The problem is resolved.
No. Go to step 2.
  1. Run the System Memory test group in the Dell Diagnostics.
Did any of the diagnostics tests fail?

No. Go to step 3.
  1. Turn off the computer and peripherals, disconnect them from their electrical outlets, wait at least 5 seconds, and then open the computer cover.

  2. Rotate the power supply away from the system board.

  3. Replace the memory module(s).

  4. Close the computer cover, reconnect the computer and peripherals to their electrical outlets, and turn them on.
