Just installed 4 1gb ddr 3200 400ghz memory cards in my hp dc 7100 cmt tower computer but it will only boot up to the point were it says starting windows and thats as fare as it goes. whats wrong?

You could have a bad memory card or a bad slot, or possibly just a badly seated memory card. Try removing all but one RAM module. Reboot. If it works, shutdown and try another. Kepp doing this until everything is up or until you get a bad boot. When that happens, try a different module in the failed slot. If it fails again, the slot is bad. If it works, continue. If the module that failed before fails again, then the module is probably bad. Just to state, some modules may work by themselves but won't work in tandem with other modules. So if you get conflicting results, this may be the case. Newer, faster RAM often comes in "matched sets" from the manufacturer meaning they have been tested and guaranteed to work together.

I would like to download micro soft works word processor to my pc

Can do, it just costs money.
Microsoft Works is the program you're referring to.
It is a licensed paid for program.

To obtain it any other way than paying for it is Stealing.

I would like to offer a free alternative.

1) Anything generated on a computer with OpenOffice on it, can be used on a computer with MS Office on it.

2) Anything generated on a computer with MS Office on it, can be used on a computer with OpenOffice on it.

3) There is no 'Learning Curve'
The user interface of OpenOffice is VERY similar to MS Office.

{I've used OpenOffice for 3 years now, and have Never looked back)

OpenOffice homepage,

A Look at the user interface of OpenOffice,

{Hover your mouse cursor over the program icons}

Information about OpenOffice on Wikipedia,

{I don't advertise for paid programs. It is against the FixYa T.O.S., anyway.
I do tell about free programs that work }

I have lost my key code for my mircosoft works cd. I had my computer fixed and now i have the reinstall my programs it is asking me to enter my code. I no longer have it what do i do now?

If Works Suite 2000 was preinstalled when you purchased your computer, and you lost the CD key, you must call your equipment manufacturer for a new CD key for Works Suite 2000.

For information about how to contact your equipment manufacturer, visit the following Microsoft Web site: If Works Suite 2000 was not preinstalled, and you lost your CD key, please call Works Suite 2000 support for a new CD key.
