Question about Panasonic CT-27G34 27" TV
My Panasonic CT-27G34A standard definition 27" TV (1999) just recently started having a problem: the screen will jiggle/glitch up-and-down just slightly (maybe 1-3 scan lines in height) at random intervals and durations. I've verified that it is independent of which TV input I am using (ie. across 2 sets of RCA inputs, 1 coax input). It will do this jiggle/glitch at least once every 5-10 minutes, and will last for anywhere from a few seconds to a minute. But then it will stop doing this for many minutes. I also intentionally jiggled the various input cables lightly at the connection into the TV and confirmed that this does *not* cause the problem, so it's not a bad cable or TV connector. My best guess is something is wrong with the actual CRT scanning gun or electronics.
Any idea what is causing this? Is this something I can fix myself (I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron), or something a TV repair shop could fix?
Sounds like dried up cap either in vertical circuit or power supply.
