Question about Rimage Prism Plus Thermal Label Printer

Installed a new printhead. It worked but I tried to align it and got it to the point where it doesn't print at all. Is there a reference point to start over on the head alignment?

Are you talking about Print head Angle? this is a difficult adjustment and you need to adjust the front and back Allen screw at the same time. Usually in 1/4 turn increments.

Try Cleaning the Cartridges manually and automatically.
For the cartridge clean it with a damp lint free cloth and also for the printheads wher eyour gonna be inserting the cartridges.
Follow these steps do do the automatic aligning and cleaning:
Click Start and then go to Printers and Faxes (XP), Printers(Vista), Devices and Printers(Win 7)
1. Right Click on your printer Icon 2. Go to Printing Preferences 3. Click the Features Tab 4. At the bottom of the window you will see Printer Services or Device Services. Click on it. 5. Choose Align Printheads on the list.

For Cleaning the Printheads, Instead of choosing Align Printer choose Clean Printheads.
I hope this helped.
Try Printing Again. I hope I was able to solve your problem. :)

Black is not printing

Try this to unclog printhead.
take out cartridge, locate the hole where ink goes trough, put a can of compressed air and blow it.
put some paper under the printhead to catch ink.

Anyone know how to read the print out that comes out after you do a printhead alignment for the hp 3000? i can see everything looks pretty good except for one area. the area looks scattered and the lines...

HP print heads are usually a part of the cartridge so when you get a new cartridge you have a new print head. However, they do have a models with separate print heads.

If after installing a good ink supply and cleaning/aligning the works, performance is still unsatisfactory you may have no recourse other than to change the print head which can be expensive to the point where getting a new printer is more cost effective.

Replace print heads. How?

REPLACING HP PRINTER, PRINTHEADS

Follow these steps to replace the printheads in your printer.
  1. Press the Power button (c00636182.gif ) to turn on the printer.
  2. Open the top cover.
  3. Press and hold the Resume button (c01219285.bmp ) until the carriage moves to the left. CAUTION: Be careful not to proceed until the carriage is on the left side of the printer. If the carriage does not move to the left automatically, turn the printer off and back on and then try holding down the Resume button (c01219285.bmp ) again. The printhead can be damaged if the carriage is not all the way to the left for installation.
  4. Lift the printhead latch. Figure 3: Lifting the printhead latchc01290070.gif
  5. Lift the handle of a printhead and use it to pull the printhead out of its slot. Figure 4: Removing the old printheadc01295543.gif
  6. Shake the new printhead at least six times while the printhead is still in its packaging. Figure 5: Shaking the new printheadc01134519.gif
  7. Remove the new printhead from its package, and then remove its orange protective caps. Figure 6: Removing the protective capsc01134520.gif CAUTION: Do not shake the printheads after removing the orange protective caps.
  8. Insert the printhead into its color-coded slot (the label on the printhead must match the label on the printhead latch). Press down firmly on the printhead until it snaps into place. Figure 7: Inserting the new printheadc01290071.gif
  9. Pull the printhead latch all the way forward, and then press down until the latch engages. Figure 8: Closing the printhead latchc01290072.gif
  10. Close the cover. Figure 9: Closing the coverc01290073.gif
  11. The printer should align the printheads automatically in a few minutes, printing an alignment page. If it does not, go to the next section to align manually.
Align the printheadsIf you installed the HP software, use the instructions in the left column below. If you installed a Plug and Play driver or other driver, use the instructions in the right column.

Cartridge problem

Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

My printer has the message " alignment failed refer to device documantation". How do I fix this.

Use the setup button and scroll down to print reports, print the self test report and it should show all colors. If any color is not printing you probably need a new printhead for that color. Otherwise do a printhead cleaning until all colors print, and then alignment won't fail.

Hp psc 750 won't print with new color ink cartridge

To solve the printing problem..

# Hold the cartridge upside down, with the bar-code label facing you and take a damp paper towel.
# Use the towel to wipe the printhead of the cartridge on the bottom (where the ink comes out). Wipe the printhead horizontally in one direction only (left to right).
# Continue doing this until it looks clean.
# Then dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure the ink is flowing.
# Next, look inside the printer and locate the carrier that holds ink cartridges. Caution: Make sure the cartridges are not installed at this point.

1. Look for a shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier.
2. Take a damp cotton swab (use water only!) and wipe along the bottom of the shiny metal piece. Note: You may need more than one swab.

# Reinstall the cartridges, making sure you snap them correctly into the printer.

CLEAN PRINTHEAD HP 4215V

Go to the HP website. Go to product support, locate updated driver software for your model. Download it & install. The new drivers will have diagnostic tools, including printhead cleaning, alignment of printhead, and many more. You also may also have diagnostic tool already installed. To find out, try to print something. When it brings up the print window, look at top for diagnostic tool tab or alignment tab. Follow instructions. Hope this helps.

Hi Did you have any print jobs sent to the printer before replacing the printhead. It seems that the printer is trying to print a job and since the usb cable has been disconnected and reconnected the printer is printing blank pages or misc text.
