this doesn't give me specific instructions for my setup. can i locate the wores in the harness for the rear dvd or do i have to by an adapter?

  • mrpag53 Aug 06, 2010

i'm trying to make the problem as clear as possible. the rear dvd player was wired to the factory radio through the factory harness. there are no obvious RCA video cables that can be hookd to the video out of the pioneer 920bt. i either have to know which wires in the factory harness go to the video in on the rear dvd player or i need a conversion cable from the factory harness to the video out of the pioneer unit.

In most European vehicles, the wires are labeled on the factory radio itself. For most domestic vehicles, these wires are the same wires that feed the speakers.

Hi

Please provide me with Make and model number of your DVD player, Pioneer and for your car as well. As this will help me to give you model specific information. Usually no adapters are used with dvd players.

Thanks

Daniel

I have a 97 toyota tocoma ext.cab. and am putting in my new cd player although my wires are not the same colors could you tell me what wires i need to match

Hello... I will try and help you with your problem. I am assuming that you have cut the factory harness off in the truck? If you have and you can reconnect it, I would recommend doing this and then you can purchase a wire harness adapter and then just match the colors. The benefit in using an adapter harness is the ease of the installation, and the more you change the radio in the truck, the shorter the wires will get. If you do not have the factory harness, or cannot reconnect the old one, here is the hardwire code:

Wire purpose: Truck color: Alpine harness:
Constant 12V+ Blue/Yellow Yellow Switched 12V+ Gray Red Ground Brown Black Illumination Green N/C Dimmer n/a N/C Antenna Right Front Front Speakers 6 1/2" Doors Left Front (+) Pink White Left Front (-) Purple White/Black Right Front (+) Light Green Gray Right Front (-) Blue Gray/Black Rear Speakers 6 1/2" Rear Corners Left Rear (+) Black Green Left Rear (-) Yellow Green/Black Right Rear (+) Red Purple Right Rear (-) White Purple/Black

Hope this helps!

How do you replace the radio and insert a cd player?

Hi, pull the trim plate off the dash around the radio. The trim may go all around the instrument panel. With the trim plate off, you can see the factory radio screws. Take the screws out, pull the radio out and remove the connectors, including the antenna wire.
You will need an adapter to fit the aftermarket radio snugly into the dash. They sell these wherever they sell aftermarket radios. I recommend you also buy the cable adapter. If you don't, at least buy the antenna adapter of you will no be able to plug your antenna into the new CD player.
Follow the instructions on putting the adapter together--it's made for a lot of different cars. You need it to screw into your dash where the screws came out.
If you buy the wire adapter, follow the directions that come with it. I recommend you solder the wires, but you can use those crimp connectors if you don't have soldering equipment.
If you don't buy the adapter cable, use the factory wire colors below to match up the aftermarket wires to your factory wires. Wrap any solder connections with electrical tape and carefully plug everything back in, including the antenna adapter and antenna cable. With the adapter plate attached to the new player, carefully push the wiring aside to get the player into the slot and then screw it in. check the system for proper operation and then replace the trim panel.
Enjoy your CDs, and let me know if you have any questions.

Wire harness to switch from stock stereo to cd player will not fit the wires that are supposed to? so what wires are the speaker wires

Not sure I understand your question. Did you buy a harness adapter for GMC, or are you trying to just cut the connector off the factory radio and solder it to your CD player? If the latter, below is the color code for your factory wiring.

How to install a flip down dvd player in a 2001 chevy venture minivan

If you go to any Car Audio shop, you can get the installation kit, wire harness, and antenna adapter. 90% of the installation can be done at the kitchen table, then pull the factory radio and the new unit will plug into the factory harness and bolt into the factory locations. Make sure you have the vehicle with you when you get the parts so they can look at the factory radio and make sure you get the right parts. If it a factory Bose system, let a professional do it, there is rewiring that will have to be done. Hope this helps

I do not know how to wire nenwood kdc-422 to a 94 buick century?

You should have a wire harness pigtail that comes with your kenwood.
you can also purchase a harness adapter plug/pigtail at most audio auto stereo shops to fit your car make and model.
Be sure to save the packaging because the plastic bag has the color/codes for the harness. This harness is designed to plug right into the factory plug inside the dash just like the stock radios do.
All you need to do is splice the kenwood cables to the adapter plug pigtail you purchase for your car.
match up each wire as described here:
