Problem for Motorola Cordless Phone

My phones are in the dock but the Line in Use and Answer On messages are displayed. I cannot call out, the line is all static, and no one can call in as they get a busy signal. Seemed to have happened out of the blue! Tx

- Thanks for the suggestions. Tried them all but unfortunately it didn't get that "Answer On/Line in Use " message cleared. I went out and bought a whole new system this morning but it has to charge for 15 hours (!!) so I am without a phone for the day I guess. If you think of anything else let me know! ThanksApr 28, 2008
- Hey thanks for the tip! 15 hours seems like an awful long time! I was under the impression that the battery had a memory and so I was trying to "follow the instructions"! Thanks for the information!I got Uniden this time - never had it before but the sales guy at Staples said it's pretty popular. My motorola has lasted over 5 years so I guess I shouldn't complain. Thanks for your help!

Just some Tips - Do you have any other phones or fax machine in the house? Check to make sure they are all hung up or press the off/ hang up button. If so, disconnect them until one brings back a dial tone when disconnected Also try cleaning the charger contacts with an eraser to the charger sends a signal that the phone is hung up.

What kind of phone did you get?
We've had Uniden, GE, AT&T, Radio Shack, V-Tech, & Panasonic. And so far the Panasonic has outlasted them all.

- You can use the phone before 15 hours. It just won't have a full charge before then. Modern phones use Li-Ion batteries and don't suffer from memory affect. The phone company just doesn't want you to get cut off if you use it before then on a long conversation.What kind of phone did you get?
