Try these suggestions
1.check to see if needle is bent
2.check tension
3.check bobbin to see if it warped
make sure there is a 2 to 3 inch tail on top thread & bobbin thread
& hold top thread as the needle goes down to pick up the bobbin thread
also check to see if there's lint or loose thread in bobbin area
hope this helps--please rate this with the thumbs in the upper right hand corner--thank you

SKIPPED STITCHES
1.the needle is not inserted correctly
2.the needle is damaged
3.the wrong size needle is being used

if these suggestions don't help the the machine could be out of

When iam stiching the bobbin thread is not interlocking with the pool thread ,the straight stich is not stiching properly

Do you have thread in your bobbin?
Is your needle fully inserted in the needle bar?
Is it the right needle for the machine?
Is your needle damaged, bent or dull?

I have a janome 8050 sewing machine. It has started making loose stiches underneath and making a noise. I have changed the needle, bobbin, thread, cleaned the bobbin area. It will not make any stiches at...

The key to proper stitches is that tension on the bobbin must equal the tension on the upper thread spool as well. The bobbin has a tension screw that may have come loose or the thread is not properly in the tensioner. For example, the bobbin could be in backwards. Or the tension of the top could be too light and allowing the tension on the bottom to pull the thread down too much.
Open the bobbin tray and watch while you slowly rotate the hand control to see it make a stitch.
You will probably be able to figure out what is wrong.

I have gotten my Mother- in -Laws sewing machine it said on back it is a 1764180 kenmore 24 stich , I can not get it to sew stiches in row it skips , I had no instructions with it for settings etc. can...

Hi Vicki
It's possible that the needle is too small for the size of thread you are using. Also make sure thread is not wrapped around the needle and that the needle is properly seated in the needle bar. It's also possible that the machine needs to be timed and serviced to correct this problem. Is it possible to get the users manual from your MIL? It would have the information you need reguarding needle sizes and threading, etc.

I need the proper instructions on how to adjust the timing on my 7422 singer advance sewing machine. I used the buttonhole ...and ever since the machine is missing stiches and half of the other stiches...

You can try a whole new needle, inserted with the flat side facing away from you. Sometimes a burr or slight bend causes you to miss stitches. I would not attempt to set the timing myself as you may cause some damage. You can also call Singer customer service at 1-1800-4singer and they can advise you. Be very cautious of advice on the internet.

You need to do a tension assembly test. Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} Tension assembly test. To do this test. Pull the thread through the tension assembly and test it to make sure the tension is working correctly.
(To do this test, adjust your tension setting to normal or medium or 5 or something in the middle. Raise the presser foot and pull the thread through the tension. It should pull easily!! Lower the presser foot and pull the thread. It should pull noticeably harder.)
If it doesn’t work this way then you probably have a piece of thread or lint stuck inside the tension discs. To remove it, turn the tension to 0 zero and raise the presser foot.Using a small screwdriver, open the space between the discs and spray with canned or compressed air. The stuff should come out. Do the tension test again to make sure you got everything and then try sewing again.
