Hi, first check the oil. If it smells like fuel, change the oil. Secondly if oil smells ok, check the valve clearances and adjust if incorrect. Let me know if the oil smells like fuel and I will help with a fix to stop it happening again. Regards Phil.

Where is the carburetor on the Craftsman 675 Series 190cc 22" cut self-propelled lawn mower?

The carburetor would be located BEHIND the air filter housing and air inlet tube. The air filter housing should have a removable (by screw or clip) cover.

I have a new 650 sears craftsman self propelled 22" lawnmower that will not start. I have gone through the prime bulb instructions, still no luck.\r\nAny ideas? Walter in Alberta Canada.

could be the priming bulb gasket between the air-filter assy. and the carb.
I have the same lawnmower and if I prime with gas from a can it will start but stop after a few seconds. When I push the bulb I can hear air leaking in this area. You can replace the gasket by removing the back half of the air-filter assembly. I am looking to buy a gasket today I let you know how it works out! Thanks Ron

Lawnmower starts but cuts off every time i start it

It is not getting fuel or air. Depending which engine it has on it, the carburetor jet may be clogged or a carburetor diaphragm needs to be replaced.
Check spark plug; Air filter; fresh fuel; and of course make sure the engine has oil in it.

6.5 hp push mower, not self propelled, starts and shuts off a second later.

sounds like a carb problem try to clean the air filter and replace the plug also remove fuel bowl nut on bottom and see if fuel is gettting into the bowl most of the time its a sticking needle and seat or a bad float or clogged carb/ports? you can also just go to your local lawnmower shop for like $75 they can rebuild it ?

Fix scott bonnar lawnmower Prisma 37 model

Start by replacing the fuel filter and connecting hose at the leak point. It is important to use "fuel hose" and fuel hose clips - which are different to standard hose clamps.

If you have problems with mice - use a steel braided fuel hose - as they can't chew through these ! -

Petrol lawnmower cutting out.

try changing the spark plug. if that doesnt work check the fuek lines for hole and leaks, check the fuel filter and clean if necessary. remove the carbuerator and inspect the gasket; it should be soft and flexible, if it seems hard or brittle replace it. clean the carb with carb cleaner sray (available at any local auto parts store) and compressed air. make sure you get inside the small fuel rail holes. also check the primer bulb for pin holes and proper seating/seal.
