My GE dryer Model DHDSR48 squeaks with every turn. Help

Hi msannmari...

It sounds like your rear drum bearing needs lubricant...remove the back of the dryer and try to put some oil in and on the bearing surface to stop the squeeking.
If you cannot get to the bearing that way then you will have to disassemble the dryer to lube the bearing.

Dryer stops after 5 or 10 minutes of drying, cools off then will start again. Took top of dryer off and notice a cap came off located in between two red wire connections. Located cap and it will not go...

Hi klcoop22367...
The cap that you speak of is probably a thermostat, thermal fuse, clyclic fuse, etc.
It will go on your vent portion of the dryer, take the wires and leave them attached to the thermostat and move it all around the back of the dryer, it will fit somewhere in that locations for which the wire is long enough to reach and no others.

My dryer turns off in the middle of the cycle, almost like its over heating. Does it on all settings. Started after a pen exploded and we wiped the drum area with Goof Off.

Sounds like you have a bad motor or possibly a bad thermal fuse I would have a qualified technician come take a look at it to rule the problem out before dumping money in parts.

Makes a horrible noise. Seems to dry fine but before its done it sound like it going to explode.

The blower wheel may be stripped out or broken.
This will cause a loud rumble noise while operating.

The inside of my dryer is turning blue!

It sounds like a fountain pen may have exploded in there. If the drum is blue from something like ink, the best stuff I have used to remove ink from a dryer is some stuff called "Goo Gone". You can find it at department stores like Wal-Mart, etc. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Electric Maytag Neptune Dryer - rattling noise

Your probably going to have to remove the rear panel and take a look to see what is causing the noise.
Disconnect the power cord and exhaust tube, remove the rear panel and check for anything loose.
You can also pop the lid and fold it back to inspect the top of the tub and belt. Roll the drum all the way around and inspect the belt for "chunks" missing.
If you include your model number, I can send you a web site that will show you an exploded view of the dryer.

Dryer was running with full load of clothes. Heard a loud pop twice, ran back to the laundry room and smelled like something burning. Turned dryer off, and now it won't start back. Also, the very top of...

Well it sounds like a sound I have heard... forgetting that I had a cigarette lighter in my pocket and having it explode from the heat in the dryer. But you say you heard two loud pops?

Once everything cools down, check again and report back... does the dryer not turn on at all? Does the light come on when you open the door? Does it buzz when you push the start button? Stuff like that.

Dryer squeaking & Clunking noise

Your particular unit has quite a few things that could be making a real loud noise.....The idler pulley, blower wheel, rear drum rollers, front drum glides. Bottomline is you have to get in there and take the unit apart..vacuuming while there and if the unit is making such a noise, it will be obvious where the problem is.....If I can help further, I am here.......
