Question about Craftsman 3/8" Pro Air Ratchet Rapid Reverse 19888

1 Answer

I have a rarely used Craftsman 3/8" air ratchet. It runs as soon as it's connected to the air hose and will not stop running when I release the trigger. There's an access hole for the trigger mechanism which contains a spring and a pin but nothing else. Could something be stuck or missing here?

You are missing the valve, it is made of polyurethane and has probably disintegrated. Here is the link to the replacementhttp://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdir...

Where do you oil the air ratchet

Put a few drops in the end where the air hose connects every time you use it. Put oil in the air inlet end and squeeze the trigger to force the oil through to lubricate the rotor vanes and bearings. Also do this before you store the ratchet in the drawer so that oil sits in the ratchet protecting the internals when not in use keeping the rust away.

3/8 air rachet will not stop spining

The ratchet needs repair. I would check the throttle lever valve inside. Either the spring inside or the valve o-ring are worn out.

Earthquake 3/8" Air Ratchet will not operate . I left it in my garage. I go back to using. After two months and it doesn't work is never been used. But once.

Did you put a few drops of oil in the air inlet end? Then connect to the air compressor hose. Make sure you have at least 90 ft lbs of air presssure.

I have a Craftsman compressor Model # 919-15292 2. The compressor stopped building pressure because air was continually being released through the unloader valve. I have replaced the unloader valve,...

you must have wired the new pressure switch incorrectly .when the pressure switch opens it will release the head pressure so your compressor must be running with the pressure switch contacts open should be 4 connections 2 marked motor which is from your compressor and 2 marked line which is your power coming in

The compressor turned on pumped up and shut off and wont start up

Inccrease the line pressure to 90 PSI, a air ratchet is a very high volume air tool and the compressor may not be able to keep up with it.

Does it run? Does it stop running? Does the pressure gauge read anything at all? Is there a regulator on it? Can you take the reg off? A bunch of things to check, get it running and let me know what you find, and I will try to tell you what's next.
