Question about GE 30 in. JGP336 Gas Cooktop
If you got moisture/ liquid in the surface ignition switches (below the knobs) they will short out (thinking they are turned on). If you allow the top to dry out, they usually will work just fine.
Some models that use auto light burners will have the same issue just from getting the burner wet as they look at the resistance from the ignitor at the burner to the cap. Same thing applies, let it dry out.
Don't waste your money on a service call, just let it dry out. It may take a day but it will dry out and be just fine.
