Question about Heating & Cooling

2 Answers

Hello, My condensing unit (LG-LMU245HV) and my wall unit (LG-LMN185HV) are brand new and were installed just one month ago. Everything has been running fine but now all of a sudden now the air coming out of the wall unit is no longer cold. Oddly, the copper pipe (that connects the outdoor condensing unit to the wall unit) is cold, and even has ice forming on it, but the air coming out of the wall unit NOT cold.

Hi, when the copper lines at the condensing unit, the larger of the 2- start to form ice, you have a freon leak. The unit is new, so I would expect the leak to be at one of the welded/brazed joints. What will happen, is the indoor unit, the evaporator coil will start to ice over and block off all air flow through through the coil. I hate to tell you this, you will need to call the installer out to do a leak check on the unit. They will then need to pump it down, braze the leak with sil-phos, or silver solder and recharge the unit. This is the problem, I see this a lot on new units. Someone forgot to do a leak check on it. Being only a month old, it has to have a warranty on it, shouldn't cost you a dime, but this is the problem, indeed!! Please keep me updated on this and get them out there. It will never cool until they fix the leak and recharge it. Please don't forget to rate me on this, I know you will be kind. Keep me posted and you can contact me by my user name below. Thank you Zeke! You still have freon in the unit, just low enough to start the suction line outside to start to ice and loose your cooling.
Sincerely,

Why won't my BRAND NEW White Westinghouse Refrigerator freeze ice cream?

Hi,

This problem should be checked if this unit is new, but this issue sounds like a cooling problem for the compressor. This means that its possible the condenser fan motor is not operating or the voltage to the fridge is below 110V at times. This can cause short cycling, but rare to see (the voltage issue). If not a fan issue, is the compressor clicking? are the light going out in the unit when the doors are closed? Let me know if any of these issue are true please.

Good Luck

Hello, my Sharp Cd-sw200 no longer recognizes the cds that are in there and none of the 5 cd drawers will open. Everything else works fine. Unit is approx 3 years old and very gently used until 4 months...

Changers are the worse of the reliable units and Sharp is not among the best brands to get. The unit will need service by a Technician.
If none of the 5 drawers will not open how is it possible that the units works fine?

Hello We just installed a Sanyo KHS1271 mini-split

The condensate drain line was not properly installed. Make them pull the wall unit and correct the problem.
Be persistant until you are satisfied they have the problem corrected. Do not pay any additional money. If they do not correct the problem then report them online to the state board of heating and air. Fill out their requested complaint form and follow thru with a second complaint if you do not get total satisfaction from the contractor that installed the unit.
Hope this helps.

Can unit be installed with only the back coils exposed to outside?

Yes.

You want to install the unit where the back (condenser) coils 'are' exposed to the outside.

My LG split units leaks from the wall unit when I have the A/C running. Is this a defeat in the unit. The unit was 1 year old last month.

No, not a defect. The condensation from the A.//C should drainout through a drain line to the outside.. It is usually a pcv pipe running into the floor and attached to the A/C. The lines?drain plugs up from slgae and bigs so if you can access it from the inside, you need to flusgh it out. And somtimes the outside end gets either buried or blocked by grass or cobwebs and grass. I just had flood dsmage because of my drain being restricted. I put a garden hose into the indoor end of the drain and turn the water on to flush out everything. Takes two people so you can control and prevent back up.

Can the LG Electronis LWHD1500ER air conditioner be installed through the wall, what wall thickness max., and is there a sleeve to assist in doing so.

I don't believe that this unit can be mounted in a through the wall application. My database does not show a wall sleeve for this unit. The biggest reason will be the side vents for the condenser heat exhaust. I would stick to the manufacturer suggested window application.

Double check your wiring .if the indoor fan is not blowing then you either have an electrical issue OR bad blower motor .
