Question about Inter-M PA-4000A Amplifier

When we connected pa-6000a amp. to four speakers with impedence 19 ohm ( with matching tr), as in the manual , the temp. sensed on the body is very high while we put the amp. on fan ventilated panel

19 ohm - is very low :( - are you using a Impeandace meter to measure this -

do you think your receiver could be a electron tube type ? (that's old) if so your problem could be impedance .

most modern speakers are set to take an impedance of 4 ohms ,, when if your amp has tubes its set to use a 16 to 32 ohm impedance (speakers and amps impedance has to match or distortion will result ) impedance matching transformers can be used to help match load to amp
also speakers need to be rated for there use in wattage , if your speakers have only three amp fuses in them assuming there 8 ohms impedance then they are rated for a max wattage of 88 watts(peak to peak) any more and the voice coils will be damaged from overheating (putting twenty amp fuses in them are a sure way to do exactly that)

also a simple test one can do to older amps is to temp shunt the input together with a speaker connected as a load on output , then slowly increase the volume , no sound (hum / buzz) should be heard or any damage to speaker should occur , if either then there are parts inside your amp that is defective and is damaging speakers

How do i link 2x tr125 jbl speakers to 2 mr922 jbl speakers


The connections are pretty straight forward, but it will depend on what amplifier you're driving them with. Normally, I'd connect the two TR to one side of a stereo PA amp and the two MR to the other side. All four cabinets are rated at 8 ohms, so running tow parallel per side would give you a 4 ohm load on each channel which would be a common load for most stereo PA amps.
However all this would depend on your gear and what you need to accomplish. If what your question really meant is how do you connect all 4 to one channel, you can't as in most cases the total impedance would be too low and you'll fry your amp.
If you can be more specific about your system we could be more helpful.

it is load resistance. set the amplifier switch to the resistance ( X amount ohms) to match your speakers. Although running 4 ohm speakers at the 8 ohm setting is louder, it will hurt your amp
most home/semi pro speakers are 8 ohm, while car speakers are 4 ohm. If you are doing a multi speaker pa/intercom install use your formula to calculate total load is 2 8 ohm speakers in parallel are four ohms . express them as fractions and add the denominator ie:8/1 +8/1 = 8/2 or 4/1 or 4. now connect that in series (add the top numbers)with another 2 speakers in parallel and you get back to 8 ohm load. repeat the same process over and over and you can hook up to 32 speakers to the amp without needing the 70 volt tap. hope this helped.

I have two 12 inch 1200 watt kenwood excelons and i want to bridge them to the amp but i can barely turn it up with out blowing fuses


Please check the impedance of those subs. Are they 4 or 8 ohm speakers? Do they have dual voice coils? this app may not be capable of handling dual voice coil four ohms and you're trying to bring it down to a 2 ohm mono.

Check the impedence of the connected speakers. if any impedence mismatch is there, the amp will sense it and will cuto the output OFF. Use only specified speakers only. The impedence of speakres are expressed in "Ohms". Select all speakers of same impedence. If 6 Ohms is the output impedence of the amp, use only that Ohms speaker. Never use a speaker less that this Ohms. You can use a higher impedence speaker, say 8 Ohs or 16Ohms. But never use lower impedence speakers, of connect two speakers in parellel connection, which will relult in overloading. I think that I've made a satisfactory solution to you. You could be having an amp overload condition. Make sure your speaker impedance matches the amp specification. Esp if you have bridged the Amp the impedance should be at least 4 Ohms and not below. When you connect two 4 Ohms speaker in parallel the total impedance becomes 2 Ohms !!!.

You have to check the ohms of the speakers all spekers should be 8 Ohms or above. if not it will overload the amplifier at high level. The minium ohms impedence of the amplifier is 4 ohms. If you connect two 8 ohms speakers together then the effective ohms will be 4 OHMS then the amp will handle the speakers. If you connect two 4 ohms spekers together then the effective ohms will be 2 Ohms, this will overload the amplifier. You will be able to connect two 8 ohms speaker to left channel or right channel of the amplifier. Check the speaker spesifiction to know its ohms. Make sure all the speakers have an impedence of 8 OHMS or above

I have a lanzar max pro 15'' subwoofer and i need to know how to wire it. It has four wire inputs on each side teo positive and two negative, is this just to change it from 4 to 8 ohm or something?


In part yes it is a flexibility for wiring your speakers to match the impedance of your amp. For example if your subs are 2 ohm dvc by wiring them in parallel you can drop the impedance down to 1 ohm per speaker and if you connect two 1 ohm then you get 1/2 an ohm load. Or you can put them in series and increase the impedance to 8 ohms which I wouldn't suggest you do. Here is a link to wiring speakers:

How do run a dual2ohm 12 to a 2 channel amp


You need to match your amp impedance to your speaker impedance. If your amp is a four ohm amp; then follow the wiring diagram for the dual voice coil speaker to have a four ohm load. If you don't have the diagram, look up the model number on the web, it will be posted somewhere. Do not hook it up so that you are mismatched, as you will very soon have a blown amp, a blown speaker, or both!

Realistic MPA-35 amp by Radio Shack


It's not that this amp isn't like "newer amps" with + and - terminals, it's that this amp is made for public-address system use. This kind of amp is used in a store, for instance, to pump background music through speakers all over the place. The terminals you connect to are determined by total impedance of the speaker configuration used.

Most single speakers, or the two- or three-way cabinets for home stereo systems, are 8 ohms. If you're connecting a single speaker you use the "common" and "8 ohm" terminals on the rear panel. With multiple speakers, you need to figure out the total impedance and use the appropriate terminal. In series, impedances add. Two 8 ohm speakers in series would total 16 ohms, so you use the common and 16 ohm terminals. In parallel, the total impedance drops. Two 8 ohm speakers in parallel total only 4 ohms. You need to figure the total impedance of the speaker configuration and connect accordingly. Too great of a mismatch will damage the amp or speakers or both.

You might be able to find the manual for this amp on Radio Shack's website. Here's a link to the manual for the model MPA-40 which should have similar output terminals. The basic information about figuring out total impedance and general use of PA amps applies to your amp as well.
