I have one like yours and the 30 seconds is all that you can get. This is how those crazy people made it!!!! Because the limit and the size of the memory cards in that time. The SD cards were small in size by the time they made that camera starting at 64MB NOT GB and then 128MB, 512MB. all of these were not big enough to handle videos. They were shortsighted because the maximum size of the SD card reached 2GB the is good enough 80 minutes videos that is 40 minutes per one gage. However, the tape can handle up to 90 minutes videos.

I think thats just how it is. card mode is severely limited. 30 seconds at lowest rez and 10 seconds at highest, which is not high. stick with the DV tape

How do you put video from your camcorder to your computer?

With a Canon ZR70MC camcorder, you can record video onto miniDV tape, or onto the SDmemory card in Card Camera mode.

To access video on the miniDV tape, you will use the DV cable (IEEE 1394 aka FireWire). Connecting this cable to your windows computer will allow you to transfer high quality video using the software supplied on the digital video solutions disc, or just about any other windows video editing software.

To access videos stored on the SD memory card, remove the card and place it in a card reader connected to your computer, or attach a usb cord to the camera and the computer. Video stored on the memory card is limited to 10 second clips @ 320x240 resolution.

Convert miniDV to VHS

You use the mini to triple RCA cable with the camera and go into the menu and make sure you are on A/v out instead of headphones. You just hit play on the camera and record on the VCR and Whala, it's done.
