Then it is not supported.
You could try locate the latest drivers for your laptop.
If it says not skype certified webcam, not alot you can do other than buy a cheap webcam to use with skype.
here is a nice little cam for $20 http://shop.skype.com/webcams/standard/iss-talk-7000/

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Just bought a refurbished D610 w/webcam... not getting a picture.. is there something I need to setup?

You need to install a program that uses the webcam such as Skype. If that doesn't work then you must go to the Dell Support website ( http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs ) and find the drivers for your webcam of your laptop. This should do the trick.

When attempting to do a video call using skype, i get the message "your webcam isn't supported by skype"

-Double click the Skype icon to open Skype.
-Open the menu for video options. Click "Tools," then "Options," and then click the "Video" tab on the left.
-Enable Skype Video. Check the box next to "Enable Skype Video."
-pen the pull-down menu of devices. Select your webcam from the list.
-Click "Test Webcam." This will open the test page where you should see what your friends will see when they video chat with you.
-Click the "Webcam settings" button below to adjust the settings.

Webcam won't turn on? I'm trying to use it on skype and it keeps saying "your webcam isn't supported by Skype. Try upgrading your drivers or change to Skype certified webcam."

Hi,

Are you using the latest camera drivers/software for your webcam?

Please click on the below link and then after the site is open click on Download Now button. Then a window will pop up in that click on save and run the file.

Follow the onscreen instructions to install the software and then try using skype again.

The webcam is not working

Hi. I suggest you try to press and hold the Function(Fn) button then press the Escape(Esc) button on your keyboard to enable or disable your webcam, when you press the Fn+Esc key it will show you a confirmation if your webcam is ON or OFF, after that try using it again with skype. Hope This Helps
