Question about Apple iPod classic MP3 Player

1 Answer

Hi , I am Raouf from Egypt......I ordered iPod classic from apple store through amazon , and one of my friends who lives in US got it with him to Egypt then when I got it the back-light was not working..so I had to return it, it was difficult to search for someone who is going to the US, but I found someone and sent it with him ,he was able to exchange it, I opened the box and I found that wheel is out of the body , I tried to return it back to its position now the button in the middle is stuck under the wheel so it doesn't work efficiently , which means that I have to search for someone who is going to the US soon in order to send him the iPod . Is there any way to fix it?? Thanks

Try these links , one thing though to keep in mind once you open an ipod warranty will be void and no exchange possible .

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have an ipod classic 160 gig but keep gettin the error code 1439 wen i try to restore what should i do?

Hi, now, when you restored your 80 gB classic, did you upgrade the firmware to 1.1.2?
If so, do not.
I refuse as my firmware 1.1.1 works the ipod great and the only trouble started (twice) on trying to update the firmware.
Try a hard factory reset:support.apple.com/kb/HT1339

Then, charge fully with AC charger (this was recommended to me twice in an Apple store)

After wards, use USB to connect to your computer and do not allow it to upgrade to 1.1.2

(See incidental article about ipod touch: rupertgee.wordpress.com/2007/12/02/downgraderestore-ipod-touch-firmware-to-version-111-using-os-x/ this might even work on ipod classic - you've got nothing to loose); also have a look at Apple's updates: apple.com/support/downloads/

This seemed to work for me:

1. Download latest version of iTunes
2. disconnect from internet (I did this by removing my wireless adapter).
3. Put iPod into disk mode (hold select and play until display says "disk mode" at the top).
4. Connect iPod to computer
5. You should be prompted to restore, click yes.
6. Message will appear saying can't connect to internet, do you want to restore to latest version "2.0.1" instead? (Something along those lines).
7. It should start restoring and work this time.

Hope this helps.

Ipod 80gb displays red x

check to see if your ipod is under warranty, if so take it to an apple store.

if i were you i would manually reset your ipod and immediately after you see the apple logo smack hard on its side on a sofa or padded carpet. If you do it right you will hear the hard drive make a weird noise and then make a clicking sound and your ipod should work

You have nothing to loose, the most apple will do for you is offer you a 10% discount off any new ipod (no matter how damaged the ipod)

When you are dissatisfied and confused go straight to apple's support. They take care of you like they are ***********. One time my friends' headphone ripped and they gave him $200 worth in giftcards and he got an apple t-shirt and new headphones. You can email or call and they should have your solution ASAP

When i turn on my ipod it show the apple logo for about 15 seconds and then a red x appears and said go to www.apple.com/support/ipod and i have done that and did all the steps but the ipod can not be put...

listen to the ipod (hold it to you ear) as you start it up. if the hard drive spins fine (contant spinning of disk motor) you have a logic board or hard drive cable issue. if you hear an uneven, repetitive noise you have a hard drive issue . you can try to replace those compoments yourself or have a tech savy friend do it for you. there is an iPod classic repair guide. online that shows you through the steps.

Try it, I wrote it for a Itouch / iphone generally but basicly if its a driver issue that should solve it.

If not, can you post me the status of the ipod from the device manager?

How can I play video files stored on my iPod player onto my portable Philips DVD player (it has an iPod dock)

You need a camcorder A/V cable that has a three-plug RCA connection at one end and a three-banded 1/8" plug on the otherad647c1.gif

iPod settings as follows:
TV OUT: ASK
TV SIGNAL: If you live in the U.S., your TV works with the NTSC standard. European countries mostly use PAL.
WWIDESCREEN: Choose your poison here... it all depends on your tv
