The fan in main oven only blow out cold air

The fan does not produce hot air. It just circulates it. The thermostat turns on the heating element and the fan moves the hot air around. Unless you have an odd working machine. Baked bread for years an it only moves air for even heat.

Oven not producing any heat

just the oven? then more than likely the element. if the stove eyes are not working as well, then your looking more at a sensor, thermostat, fuse, breaker, etc. almost always an element though

I have a Smeg SA 398x model. firstly, I would like to know the year of manufacture please. Secondly, for some reason the fan element options do not heat up. The fan in the back of the oven works but no...

This tutorial will show you how to check your Smeg element and how to replace your Smeg cooker element.
Here are the 3 main faults to look for in your oven or cooker that is not heating
  • Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element or tripping the electrical supply. Consult your Smeg manual.
  • If your Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty. With grills the thermostat light should come on there should be heat, if not then this could be the grill element or the thermostat.
  • When you turn the oven on, the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board sometimes called the breaker tripping) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.

How do I replace the bottom oven element in a CDA CD 907 double oven

ISOLATE MAINS POWER BEFORE WORKING ON THIS APPLIANCE
Remove the back of the oven check temp controller before replacing or buying element, as this can often stop any heat being produced. The element is in front of the fan, if this model is fan assisted, remove fan, after removing element inspect to see any small hole in metal, if you see a large hole more than 10mm , this could be a sign that the fan needs cleaning. Clean fan with WD40, do not switch oven on untill fan has dried off. Then replace element, switch oven on low with door open, if you feel slight heat, go for a full test, gradually build up heat, keep on for at least 30 mins, make sure the oven reaches temp, you can expect some smell from a new element, this is protective oil, and considered normal.

The oven will not turn off even though both dials are in the 'off' position. The light remains on and the fan continues to run. The oven continues to produce heat.

Broken oven

The problem is usually the igniter not reaching the correct amp draw .When the igniter does not reach the correct amp draw it may allow the gas valve to partially open or not open at all. The igniters are inexpensive and easy to replace. There is a video at http://appliancehelponline.com/gasoventroubleshootvideo.html this will walk you thru the correct procedure for performing this test. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models are available. All parts come with installation instructions.

Hello- This is a brand new model, but it works the same as the rest. Heat is produced by the elements. The fan has an element that glows when heating the air. --Convection oven glass gets hotter than normal fanless models.-- This is all normal operation of the oven.  To ensure full life of oven, avoid using the 'self-clean' feature. Techs call this the 'self-destruct' cycle. Please reply to this post if info is helpful- have more if needed- Thanks- Ed

My double oven has stopped working, its only the large fan assisted oven which is producing no heat. The top oven/grill works okay. Is it an element problem ?

If the fan is working o/k, then you need to fit a new oven element, located at rear of oven behind removeable cover.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

The fan is working yet produces no heat, the grill is working fine also!

Usually means that the fan element (which is usually circular and sits around the fan blade) has blown. Some can be replaced from inside the oven but some need the oven removing from the housing. Also, specific makes/ models have their own element types so you must order the correct element for your model.
