HI. Normally when this happens, it will be due to a weak battery or failed sensor that links your wireless keyboard to the CPU(USB sensor module). If you are certain that your batteries are fresh and the sensor is connected to the CPU and working, i wound advise to back up your PC to a previous date before you installed the latest update. The new update may have scrambled the necessary driver needed to control the keyboard and sensor, but i would rule out bad battery or failed linking sensor module first before backing the CPU up in system recovery.
If you are forced to back up the system to a previous date, i would recommend to back the system up about 6 days. All back up options are located in the system recovery sections of vista.
