Question about iLO (2 GB) MP3 Player

1 Answer

Will not turn on

My ilo will not turn on. The screen does not light up. I check batteries and if it will still transfer music from my computer. Both are yes! It is unlocked. I did try to turn on and listen, just in case the screen was out.

This is the worst mp3 player ever invented - i have to tell you this up front. There is no driver, the company does not support the product anymore - I would return it now while you still can.

Either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

I am trying to sync my ilo mp3 player to my windows media player. I hooked up my USB cables and turned on my player and my computer does not recognize my device. What do I need to do?

HERE IT GOES. YOU HAVE TO GO THROUGH MY COMPUTER R ATHER THAN USE THE WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER. I HAD THE SAME ISSUE. OPEN YOUR LIBRARY FIRST. THEN GO TO MY COMPUTER. PLUG IN YOUR DEVICE THIS WILL ADD YOUR E DRIVE TO MY COMPUTER. YOU THEN CAN CHOOSE ALL MUSIC OR INDIVIDUAL TRACKS. DRAG YOUR MUSIC TO THE E DRIVE. RIGHT CLICK THE E:DRIVE. THIS SHOULD TRANSFER YOUR MUSIC TO THE E DRIVE. I BROUGHT MINE TO MY FREIND AND THIS HOW HE SHOWED ME.

It doesn't work the same

There are two ways to format an Mp3 player - one on the computer itself, and one in Windows Media Player. Both methods will end up erasing all the songs on the player, but the player will be "good as new" after that. Sometimes reformatting in this manner will override the player's native formatting and cause problems - this can be reversed in most cases by updating the player's firmware. Firmware upgrades are available from most manufacturers' websites.

WARNING: The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.
Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to Windows-based computers.
You can also format the player in Windows Media Player itself:
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.

Won't read music

Check and make sure that the format you are trying to play is compatible with the player. For instance, iTunes files won't work with this player.

Also, you could be trying to load DRM-protected files from a service like Bearshare. Yuur screen will tell you the files are transferring, but they are really not transferring b/c they have DRM protection. There is not currently a free way that I know of to remove this DRM-encryption, although you can probably buy download rights from your music service.

Unfortunately, the ILo site is down, so their is no way to get a firmware upgrade in case this model is another victim of the Windows Media Player upgrade - WMP 11 messed up a lot of mp3 players regardless of manufacturer.

Donot know how to work it

-Plug in your mp3 player

-Go to your folder with all your songs 'My Music' and find your music files.

-Either select all your songs, open them with 'Windows Media Player' and transfer them that way.
-Or 'Open My Computer' then open 'iLo' and drag the songs from where your songs are located [My Music] to the 'Music' folder in your iLo folder.

[MyMusic] Song.mp3 >drag to> [MyComputer/iLo] Music.
