Question about MSI 694T PRO (6309-470) Motherboard

PC Not Starting

We have just moved house and when I put our computers back together mine did not work.
The wifes PC is just fine however mine is a different story when I initialy hooked everything up and turned it on the monitor showed CHECK SIGNAL CABLE. So I ran through the basics and rechecked all the connections and all were fine. Next I tried my wifes monitor and same thing, next was a Grapics card swap (i tried 3 seperate cards) still nothing, I even tried my old Celeron chip but still no go. I have pulled the whole PC apart cleaned and dusted everything and reassembled and again nothing. I have noticed (stupid me should have seen this right at the start) that it is physicly not booting up, all fans are running mother board lights are only getting to stage 1 hard drives are lighting and it gets to first beep then no further. I also have no keyboard and mouse activity. My Hardware is MSI 694t pro mother board, 1.2gig Celeron chip 1.2gig DDE ram. Previous to the move no issues the PC never left our hands so I know it wasn't dropped or anything like that. My next step (unless you guys have any ideas) is to go out and buy a whole new setup because I don't know what has failed.

Cheers from OZ
Bill

When you say "...put computers back together..." what does that mean?

Check video cable pins. Check disk drive connector...make sure they are pushed in tight on mobo and drive connector.

Plugged old an older HD into my custom pc and now no video appears on screen.? I was trying to help my wife retrieve old photos from her ancient 800mhz hp computer so i took the hd out of her pc and put...

Hi,

What you need to do is put the old HD in as a spare drive, not replace the one in the computer. Each drive can be either a Master or Slave. The pin settings are usually written on the drive. Once the computer boots to the regular drive, the OS will recongize the spare drive and give you the ability to open it and get your photos off of it. Make sure that when you start the computer that the cables are seated correctly on the board. The Master drive once you set the pin settings on the drive should be plugged into the Primary IDE controller, which is the plug closest to the edge of the board. Then the secondary drive, or slave once you set the pin settings, should go in the secondary IDE controller, which is the one right behind the primary. Then give it a try. Also, the older HD, what is the brand and model, maybe it's not compatible with the Intel board?

Thanks Mark

Keyboard and VGA port does not work,i think it's a motherboard

i think your board is dead you must wait 15 seconds to reboot your pc or you will over surge it with power my buddy did it to mine and blew up my graphics card your board might be dead but does it make a clicking sound when you try to start it or any beeps if not your board is dead you could try to clear the cmos just take out the round watch battry on the board for about 5 min and then put it back in and start it up but theree should be a jumper you can use to clear the cmos cmos is your pc's boot options you know when you hold the delete button and shows your boot options it will reset itself try that if nothing works your board is dead

Hi, Replacing my 256mb ram (1 slot) with 1Gb (2x512). The computer would not boot. Removing 1x512 memory the computer works fine. I put my old 256Mb back with the 512 Mb and the system only reported 256Mb....

Is the speed of the RAM the same mixing PC 133 and PC100 ram can cause problems working together. Also it sounds as if your board will only upgrade to a maximum of 512 MB total.

PC Won't Start After Initial Post

make sure the ram is the same name of kind. if you can get the old computer on, hit the esc key and go in the bois and hit save, and restart. this should bring the computer back up. check the piggs (jumpers) on the motherboard to see if all are the same, more them around and try each one, I hope this will help you.
