Question about Cyberhome DVD Recorder - DVR1600
OK you could try to use a cleaning DVD that may help.
If that doesn't work, then you have a faulty laser or quadrant detector in your laser assembly and the only way to fix it is to replace it.. it is also possible there are other problems too.
However i would doubt the economics of being able to do so. and any monies to be spent may well be put towards a new unit with a warranty?

I had the same problem and wasted many many DVD+R and DVD+RW packs. I no longer have any problem since I started using Ativa DVD disks.

I just bought a used one of these and it is showing no disc when it has one in the tray. I suspect it's some kind of an alignment problem. While it's in the Load mode, searching, I slapped the unit once or twice and it started playing the DVD that was in the tray. Not a great solution, but it got the DVD playing.
