The flickering could be a sign that your lcd screen is going bad and
needs to be replaced. It could also be the video card inside the
computer. Isolate the problem by connecting another monitor to the
laptop. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker
and connect it to the laptop. If the Borrowed monitor displays ok
without flickering, then your video card inside the computer is good,
but your lcd screen is bad. If the Borrowed monitor flickers like your
lcd screen did, then your video card inside the computer is bad.
Plug in an external monitor and see if the
display shows up on it. It can be any kind of monitor even the old big fat crt
monitors as long as it has a vga cable to connect to your computer's vga
port. If so that proves your video card is ok. The video will show
on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems
will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down
the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru
F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have
the icon of a display.
Try tapping the back of the lcd screen's lid to see if the
flickering stops, increases or decreases. It might be that the lcd
cable located at the top on the back of the lcd screen is loose.Isolate
the problem by connecting another monitor to the computer. You'll have
to take the lcd apart to get to the video cable on the back of it.
motherboard is not alright. there are failing compaonents on the motherboard( capacitors, resistors e.tc). however, try to go to bios and stay there for some time and see if the same will happen.

check the monitor refresh rate setting.right click on the back ground on the main windows screen. Choose proprieties from the menu that opens, then click on the settings tab on the top of property window. Next click 0on the monitor tab and increase the refresh rate at the bottom of monitor window. That should do it.

Use a reset sequence on the monitor-
1. turn off monitor
2. unplug power
3. plug power back in, holding down the last button on the left, then push
the power button to turn back on and off three times, holding on the third try
until it comes on- hold for ten seconds and release; the monitor should work
again
maybe someone pushed on the screen if so it is not fixable, probably not anyway take it back to store and tell them it was like that when you bought it
Hi this is the way how to examine what's wrong with your LCD
monitors. Power on both CPU
and monitor. After it goes back to white, you have to
check that if you can see the image on the screen or not by shining a
flashlight into the
screen, not directly but find the best angle to the screen and take a
look very
closely. If you can see the icons or any image, there will be a minor
problem. I used to check my LCD monitor and could see window image
using flashlight and found out that Some
of CCFL lamps inside were broken and it is very easy to replace. If you
cannot see anything on
the screen, there'll be some problems with inverter board. If you have
soldering tool and want to fix it by yourself, check the caps first. It
may
cause this problem. Some caps might show leaking or burn spot on the
board
because of too high temp. If you don't have soldering tool, you better
go get a
technician to do so. Thank you, Tan
i had this problem & the circittree on the back of the monitor has a little ajustable screw if you ajust this till the flickering stops hope this helps
OK your monitor is failing in the Horizontal circuitry.... OR the PSU is failing to supply the correct Voltages. Either way it is probably going to fail completely soon. With monitors so cheap now, here in NZ they are about NZ$20.00 - $50.00, repair isn't adviseable to do so, it would make more sense to put the Repair monies into a NEW screen... maybe time for an LCD?
