Aloha, we purchased an existing frozen yogurt shop - incl. four (4) Taylor #794's - we believe they are approx. 10 years old - one of the machines (all are water cooled) was leaking where the water in/out connects to the condenser coils - a significant amount of the cooling liquid for the compressor motor (brownish/ yellowish liquid) was lost as well... IF THE COILS ARE DAMAGED, CAN THEY BE REPAIRED - OR JUST REPLACE ? HOW DO WE REPLACE THE COOLING LIQUID FOR THE COMPRESSOR MOTOR ?

Check the Water enter dump valve for the ice maker. It is leaking. It will not shut off & will cause this problem. The yellow/brownish color may be due to rusted parts in the unit.and water leaking is passing from this rusted part so this color of water is seen. Check out.thanks.

This is the cooling liquid for the compressor motor... It should not spill out... it says that the body is damaged...you need to refill the liquid again after fixing the issue with compressor body...

yes definitely the compressor cooling oil can be refilled... Compressor motor cannot be repaired at your place, it needs to be shifted to the repair shop ...

What is process to winterize a Taylor ice cream machine?

To winterize a Taylor 794, or almost any water-cooled Taylor machine, we need to get all of the water out of it. Follow the steps outlined here.
1. Remove the supply water hose from the water source.
2. Remove the rear panel of the machine.
3. Locate the water valves. Pictured below.
4. Have one person open 1 water valve. (You can scissor two screw drivers to take pressure off of the spring.)
5. Blow out all of the water with an air compressor until only air comes out of the drain hose.
Repeat step 4 and 5 for the other side.

Can you replace just the body part of the water value instead of having to recover and recharge the system?

Yes you can. I have never seen the charged side of the valve go bad. Remove the 4 screws (usually T-20 Torx or phillips) on the "bell housing" side, and replace everything besides that part.

Product comes out frozen after all night on standby in a 754 taylor

The same thing happened to my Taylor 8756 and it was the thermistor probe. The probe is a thin copper tube that is near the freeze cylinder. It cost me about $20 for the part and $200 for the labor to have a technician put it in. Hope this helps and good luck.

I have a Taylor 794 soft serve machine. The left side is too soft.

Viscosity adjustments should not have to be made frequently on these machines. If you change products a lot, such as flavors of yogurt, minor adjustments may be required. If your machine uses 3 phase electricity and it machine has been moved or any electrical work performed you may want to check the beater rotation, the beater should rotate clockwise inside the barrel viewing from the front, if you look at the gear box from the back, the pulley should be turning clockwise as well. Otherwise, there is a fine tuning potentiometer on the control, you must remove the front cover to see it. Clockwise is colder/thicker. I recommend small adjustments. It is best to read the amp draw on the motor to see what type of amps it is drawing. If your mix is soft and your motor is drawing 4 amps, you may have another type of problem such as a bad motor. The board and control can also fail giving these problems. There are many things to check in addition to these. Hope this will help you get started.
