Display light board faded

Four years ago I had this problem (display goes dim, then goes out altogether) and fixed it per this post:
The circuit board for the display/touch panel is mounted on the back of the display panel itself and connected to the other circuit boards by two multipin connectors. When you remove the display panel (3 screws on top, 4 on the bottom) you will be able to GENTLY detach those connectors. They are low voltage and may be handled safety even when the oven is powered, but I agree that turning off the oven circuit breaker is good practice.

To remove the circuit board, GENTLY release the two black plastic tabs; the solder pads are underneath. I too used a 100 mf capacitor because no local supplier had a 68 mf hi-temp. Observe polarity; the (-) lead goes towards the center of the board (away from the edge connector.) You must use a high-temperature capacitor (105 degrees C, I think) or the problem will recur.

If your oven isn't put together the way mine is, this solution won't work - and I'm sorry to have taken your time.

LCD display is blank , won't light up at all?

I had the same problem, mine faded out over time until I couldn't read it anymore. I had to have the circuit board replaced. The technician said that over time voltage surges can burn them out. It used to be frequent that I'd come home and all the clocks needed to be reset, so I know my area does have power problems.

The board comes out rather simply, I'd do it myself if if ever happened again.

LED Display fading

As noted in solutions to other Jenn Air ovens, this is often solved by replacing the capacitor labeled C3 on the circuit board that contains the display. Oven heat apparently causes it to fail over time. This is a solder connection to the circuit board. Not hard if you have any experience with this kind of soldering it is straightforward.

Seven phillips sheet metal screws to remove panel assembly, plus two electrical connectors. One ribbon connector from touch panel to board, then four 1/4 hex sheetmetal screws to remove circuit board from touch panel and metal frame. Then soldering iron.

It did work on a 40300 dual unit, which is same as this model except for cosmetics.

Capacitor is 35 volt 68 microfarad. Radio shack has 100 microfarad, which one report says works. Radio shack doesn't have a 68, but they do have 22 and 47 which mounted in parallel give 69, which is within tolerance. That's what I used. The capacitors cost $1.29, less than 1% of the cost of a new circuit board.
